Fr. Jim offered a moving dedication for the 9/11 Memorial today after Mass. The parish is grateful to all who donated for the memorial stone and for the Commander John J. Shea’s Assembly (Knights of Columbus) for the honor guard.
We gathered in prayerful remembrance of all who lost their lives on that fateful day and for those who have perished due to the after effects. May their memory continue to be a blessing for us all.

On this day in 1967, Fr. Vincent Capodanno made the ultimate sacrifice as a Navy chaplain in the Vietnam War. He died protecting and praying with Marines and was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor for his valor. He has been named a Servant of God which is a step toward sainthood.

Though he never signed on for combat, Father Vincent Capodanno was a Vietnam War hero in the truest sense. He is also a Fordham University Hall of Honor member.

Bishop Brennan joined the Franciscan Brothers of Brooklyn on Sunday, August 30, at Our Lady of Angels Friary in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, to celebrate the Jubilee Year of Saint Francis.

It was a beautiful gathering of faith, fraternity, and gratitude, honoring the enduring legacy of Saint Francis and the continued mission of the Franciscan Brothers.
