We're having a pizza party at church for the kids and following the party an egg hunt for the kids at the cottage.
April 24th @4:
Worship and a special demonstration of a Messianic Seder Dinner to celebrate Passover. Although it will be a little late because Passover is a week before.

The atmosphere was filled with desire and hunger at last nights worship!

There is such a desire and hunger to eat of His goodness and Word in us! Many go on fasts around this time which cleanses the mind and heart and opens our eyes to see more clearly, and our ears to hear God’s voice better!
In doing so let’s pull up a seat at His Table and Eat of His Words. Join us on our next worship night on February 6 @ 4:00 @

Celebrating 100 years at
The “Humpy Chapel” or Acorn Church of God.

Our history: ~The Whitaker Family~

William “Henry Humpy” Whitaker Sr. (1830-1911) was father to Ulysses S Grant Whitaker (1874-1941).

The Whitaker family were the founding members of Acorn Church of God. William “Henry Humpy” Whitaker donated land for the church to be built on. The church was then deeded to the community by its founders.
The church is referred to as the Humpy Chapel, in remembrance of William “Henry Humpy” Whitaker.

It was erected in 1920’s.

Maude Silvers (1917-2009), granddaughter to William Whitaker, said she was about 5 years old (which dates the building being erected ca. (1921/1922) when they started building the chapel.
She remembered construction and the family and community building it.
