The People Had a Mind to Work

Nehemiah sees the need for the walls of Jerusalem to be rebuilt and takes the necessary steps to get permission, travel there and oversee the work. He runs into opposition, disbelief, apathy and a lack of resources. Despite all those obstacles the work is done. Nehemiah 4:6 says it well, “So we rebuilt the wall, and all the wall was joined together to half its height; for the people had a mind to work.”

It is truly amazing what the people of God can accomplish when they have a mind to work, an enthusiasm to serve, a desire to make a difference in the lives of others and a determination to serve God. Often a physical building is just a visible sign of that deeper commitment to God. The work on our new facility, the Foundry, has begun. Shiloh Church community, do you have a will to work? Let’s build in all areas to lift high Jesus Christ and glorify the Father!
