Sometimes “Thank You” just doesn’t feel sufficient and today is one of those times! Last Saturday at the Arkansas Veterans Cemetery in NLR, we asked for volunteers to help pick up and place all 9500 wreaths into storage for the next holiday season. Not only did you show up, you all SHOWED UP! We had about 160 wonderful human beings come out in the cold blustery sunshine with such enthusiasm and work ethic that all the wreaths were removed from the graves in about 75 minutes and then they were place on poles and stored on the racks which got done in under an hour and a half!! Your support of our project for flags and wreaths is amazing! I met some new volunteers, got to see some regulars and our amazing active duty, guard, and retired military showed up in big numbers. They make us proud!! Our next event will be to place flags for Memorial Day. Stay tuned for details.

Good morning all of you fabulous volunteers! A huge shout out to those who went out to the cemetery on West Maryland and stood up the wreaths that may have blown over during the past several weeks. This is our last week and on Saturday, January 10 starting at nine we will be needing volunteers to pick up all of the wreaths and help place them in storage for another year. It’s a great opportunity if you have a student who still needs some volunteer hours as well. All of your help is greatly appreciated.!

Good morning everyone! In search of some Wind Warriors this week! We had some pretty good wind storms come through over the weekend so if anyone has some time over the next two weeks to come out to the cemetery and standup wreaths to keep everything looking pristine, it would be greatly appreciated! I know it’s cold out, but it only takes 15 to 20 minutes each to walk most of the sections. If you are a student on holiday break and needs to volunteer hours, here’s your opportunity! We will be picking up the wreaths Saturday, January 10 starting at nine so we only have a couple of weeks left to enjoy the beautiful wreaths all help is appreciated! Thank you so much.

Wanna be a superhero? Here’s your opportunity! WE NEED WIND WARRIORS!!
Anyone who can spare 15 minutes or an hour… However, amount of time… Drive through the Arkansas Veterans Cemetary, and see if the wind has blown down any wreaths. If so, please stand them back up. Make sure the bow is looking good and it is centered on the headstone. Great opportunity to take your kids, your family, friends or some beautiful alone time. Maybe just take one section walk around check all the wreaths. Maybe you weren’t able to make it on the days that we put out the wreaths. You can still help!
WIND WARRIORS- we appreciate everyone so much!
