AMBC also would like to extend a warm thank you to our guest director, Sis. Bessie Lancelin and her choir for accepting our invitation to sing..their praise will also be a blessing for us..i know her choir will praise their ministry in song and will add a special touch to this already memorable celebration!...

On this last day of Black History Month I wanted to reflect on my notes and summerize on what i believe our Pastor Rev. David L. Holmes sermond to us last Sunday (2/22)...
Rev. Holmes message centered on God’s eternal purpose and promises..shown clearly through the faith and courage of Ebed-Melech the Ethiopian..who stepped forward to rescue Jeremiah from the pit (Jeremiah 38:7-13)..Rev. Holmes stated that his actions showed that God uses faithful people from every nation and that righteousness and compassion are never overlooked by God..i jotted down scriptures from Jeremiah (29:11; 38:13) and Psalm 139 which affirms that God sees..knows and rewards those who trust Him..people like Joseph, Esther, and Ebed-Melech who are reminded that God’s promise stands firm and Jesus is the fulfillment of God’s plan for all people..thank you for Your word Rev. Holmes and for opening our eyes to how God is everywhere at all times and whom we should turn to at all times..bad and good..afterwards our very own church members performed a memorable Black History Month program with church members..Rev Larry Kirklin, Diane Taylor, Jacklyn Reems, Logan Butler and Donavan Holmes inside of our fellowship hall and lastly feed us delicious soul food and desserts made and served from our church members..what topped off our celebration was the outfits worn by our church members to commemorate their culture and a huge thank you to all who participated and came to Antioch Missionary Baptist Church for this special occasion and as always in all ways..God is good all the time!...

On this day..a day after Valentines Day..our pastor..Rev. David Holmes spoke on the book John 4:24.."God is Spirit.."..he sermond that.."..The Lord will fight our battles" and the "The Lord is our Sheperd"..he also stated that God has many characters..for example in Revulation 3:19 it proclaims "God's love for us" and in contrast to that..in Proverbs 6:16 it says "God hates 6 things..."..our Pastor Holmes assured us that "..whatever we are going through in life..God has a purpose for us"..He is teaching us through His word in Jeremiah 23:23 that says "..God is everywhere at all times..He is asking, “Am I only a God nearby…and not a God far away?”..so whenever we need him..He is there for us 24/7..365..now THAT'S love!...
Thank You Lord for todays sermon from our Pastor Rev. Holmes and a testimony from Deacon Bulter (& Sis. Armenthia Butler Spicer) about their young son Logan not being able to go to an event..first he had to do his chores and be obedient..but his chores took longer than expected therefore Logan arrived to the event late which resulted with the event becoming full to capacity..so no entrance for Logan..come to find out that the event had a shooting not long after he was turned away from the door..praise God!!!...i believe this was another lesson for us that without You Lord being everwhere at all times he was saved from all harm!..Thank You Lord for all You do..in Jesus name...

What a powerful Word our congregation heard today for our (first out of twelve) First Sunday Communion!..our Pastor David Holmes preached from the Book of Acts 1:5–11..reminding us how powerful Jesus is and how we have to be prepared as we wait for God’s promise for His return..Lord knows Lee & myself needed to hear this today..God is good all the time!!!...

Yesterday our Pastor David Holmes & First Lady Cynthia decided that we would have a NYE mass at our AMBC fellowship hall..a few members had testimonies to announce about the year 2025 & they served a hot meal as we fellowshipped..I truly feel blessed to be a part of such great church family!..Thank You Lord for guiding my steps along with these great group of men & women..you all made me feel loved & welcomed ever since I've been attending with Lee since (approx)1995..I am grateful for each & everyone for their graceiousness & support..God bless each & every one at AMBC!...
