Another morning here in Texas (yes it's hot, it's Texas)... the black coffee flows and here's some more (shorter than normal) perspective...
Personal Responsibility... something my Dad taught me. It wasn't always an easy lesson and it certainly wasn't my favorite lesson to learn, but they were lessons well earned.
Many have learned to blame others for their lack of it... but it's ours to own, no matter your station in life.
It's easy to take responsibility for good choices (pat ourselves on the back)... it's much harder to take it when we've chosen badly.
It's easy to blame others for our own shortcomings... passing or projecting fault upon someone or something around you. When you "own your mistakes", when you take personal responsibility for them, you grow. You gain integrity...
Our Founders built this Nation for an honest, hardworking people. Those with moral values such as integrity and loyalty. They built it for self-reliant and responsible people.
When we play the blame game, we are abdicating personal responsibilities and placing them upon an untruth. It's a foundation that cannot endure...
This is my perspective; Our Nation's foundation will not endure an irresponsible "We the People" for very much longer... We're running out of people or things to blame.
The only thing left for us to do is "look into the pool and see that the monster staring back... is us! When that happens... if you don't have integrity, bootstrapping is almost impossible.
I'm just an imperfect guy, living in an imperfect world, trying to serve a Perfect Christ. It's not easy... but it's makes a difference in my life. It helps highlight truths... and it helps me to be a better person tomorrow, than I was today. It helps build integrity...
Self-reliance and personal responsibility are cornerstones to our foundation... and two qualities our Founders built this Nation upon, let's all make them proud, take responsibility and bootstrap to a better future.
Thanks for all following along with my perspective...
