We are a congregation of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). You can read more about our denomination at https://disciples.org/
Worship is at 9:00 am on Sundays. After Sunday worship, worshipers are invited to stay for chat-n-coffee to touch base with friends and meet new friends. It’s a time to connect and re-connect with friends. Bible Studies meet at various times depending on people’
s interest. Currently, there is a Bible study that meets once a week at 10 a.m. For more up to date information, please check out our monthly calendar. Service is the hallmark of Christian life. Jesus came to serve, not be served. He challenged us to love as he loved; thus, we seek to love others through acts of compassionate service. Some of our service projects include:
Low income senior housing through our ministry at Heritage Towers of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). Currently, Heritage Towers is undergoing major renovations to upgrade our building and improve the living facilities of our residents. We serve lunch at Lunch Together / Soup Kitchen. We also help with the administration of this important food program in Sheridan. Lunch Together / Soup Kitchen serves lunch five days a week, Monday through Friday. Lunch Together is a mission project of eight Sheridan congregations who take turns serving lunch to anyone who wants to eat lunch. Lunch is served at First Congregational United Church of Christ located at the corner of Works and Brooks, near the Sheridan County Court House. We support the mission projects of our church, the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). For more info, see the links below. We operate a Thrift Store. The Thrift Store is located in the lower level of the church. Hours are Tuesday and Saturday, 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Donations can be made from 9am to 12:30pm Monday through Saturday inside the double brown doors. The doors are located on the front of the church. Helpers are always welcomed too. We help organize the local CROP walk. CROP stands for Communities Responding to Overcome Poverty, and is the action arm of Church World Service, dedicated to stopping hunger in the world. We send clothing to Colorado Christian Home in Denver, a ministry to help abused children. Last summer, we sent a group of kids on a mission trip to Colorado Christian Home. We come from many different religious backgrounds, but we have all found a home at First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Sheridan. Come, share the Spirit!
