It is with heavy hearts we announce that next Sunday, January 15th, 2023 will be Pastor Gayle’s last service here at Christ Reformed as she is retiring from ministry in advance of cancer surgery on February 3, 2023 which will be followed by three months of chemotherapy after she recovers from surgery.

With even heavier hearts we announce that the worship service on January 15, 2023 will be the last service at Christ Reformed and we will be closing our doors. There will be a special service on the 15th, beginning with the ringing of our bells, the oldest bells in Shepherdstown, at 10:45 a.m. The service will begin at 11:00, and will be followed by a reception. Our service will include communion and special liturgies for the ending of a pastorate and the closing of a church.

We also want to acknowledge the very special gifts of our Music Director and Organist Carol Wootton. Carol’s talents have inspired us and lifted not only our worship, but our hearts. Thank you Carol!

This coming Sunday, January 8th, join us for a Service of Lessons & Carols - the complete Nativity story interspersed with traditional carols and special music. Followed by Community Social Time with refreshments and coffee bar. Service begins at 11:00 a.m.

Greetings! I hope that everyone had a peaceful, meaningful, and happy Christmas, and may your New Year's be blessed.

There will be no service at Christ Reformed on New Year's Day.

Our worship on January 8th will be a service of Lessons and Carols - beautiful music and candles.

On January 15th we say goodbye to Pastor Gayle in a service of peace and parting.

This next Sunday at Christ Reformed UCC in Shepherdstown, WV we will be observing All Saints Sunday. We will have remembrance tables to share photographs and special objects as well as candles to light as we call to mind those who have passed on. Please feel free to join us and bring photos and objects to remember your loved ones. Worship begins at 11:00 with communion for all, and is followed by Social Time with refreshments and coffee bar.

We met for Circle of Light Book Club last night, but because there were only a few of us, we chose one book to be read for next month's discussion. We chose The Starless Sea by Erin Morgenstern.
