In Loving Memory of Our Sister in Christ, Shirley Jean Herron

Today, we honor and remember the life of our dear sister in Christ, Shirley Jean Herron, who entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior on May 21, 2026, at the age of 87.

Shirley was a faithful servant of God, a devoted wife, a loving aunt, a treasured friend, and a pillar of the church community. For 75 years, she faithfully attended and served at Oil City Assembly of God, always willing to lend a helping hand wherever there was a need. Her life was marked by kindness, generosity, hospitality, unwavering faith, and a deep love for people.

Whether she was serving in the church, helping family and friends, caring for others in her community, or simply sharing her warm smile and encouraging spirit, Shirley reflected the love of Christ to everyone she met. Her life was a beautiful testimony of faithful service and Christian devotion.

As Jesus said in Matthew 5:16:

"Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in Heaven."

Shirley truly let her light shine. Though we grieve her passing, we rejoice in the hope of eternity and the promise that she is now at home with her Savior.

Please keep Shirley's family and loved ones in your prayers during this time. May we all be inspired by her example of faithfulness, love, and service to the Kingdom of God.

"Well done, good and faithful servant."

❤️ Rest in the arms of Jesus, Shirley. Your legacy of faith will continue to shine in the lives you touched. ❤️

🇺🇸 Memorial Day 🇺🇸

Today we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Their sacrifice purchased freedoms that we often take for granted, and we are forever grateful.

As we gather with family and friends this Memorial Day, may we never forget those who paid the ultimate price. We also lift up the families of our fallen heroes in prayer, asking God to bring comfort, peace, and strength.

“Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” — John 15:13

From all of us at Oil City Assembly of God, we pray you have a safe and blessed Memorial Day as we remember, honor, and give thanks. 🇺🇸
