We have a great opportunity to help families in Peru this fall. Peru Hope is collecting 250 handmade or warm fleece blankets to send directly to Peruvian communities in need.

Blankets can be knitted, crocheted, sewn, or made from fleece. There’s also an opportunity for those interested to travel with Peru Hope on a humanitarian trip and personally deliver donated blankets to families.

The goal is 250 blankets by October 15. If you, your family, church group, youth group, school, or service organization would like to participate, you can find the details and sign up through JustServe here:

Shelley Community Blood Drive — Appointments Now Open

Every two seconds, someone in the United States needs blood.

Patients facing cancer treatments, traumatic injuries, surgeries, childbirth complications, sickle cell disease, and other serious medical conditions depend on blood transfusions—and that blood can only come from volunteer donors.

I’m asking members of our community to consider giving about one hour of their time at the upcoming Shelley blood drive:

Donating is safe and straightforward. The actual blood donation usually takes only a few minutes, and the entire appointment generally takes about an hour.

Come celebrate Pioneer Day at the Snake River Homestead!

This free community event will be held Thursday, July 23, from 4:00–8:00 p.m. at 587 E 1250 N in Shelley.

Bring the whole family and step back in time with:

🐴 Horse-drawn wagon rides
💎 Gem mining at the miner camp
🎯 Pioneer games and activities for children
🧶 Weavers, spinners, a mountain man, and historical merchants
🏠 Tours of the homestead’s historic buildings
🎶 Music, food vendors, and more

There will be 10 different stations offering free family activities, and all of the historic buildings will be open to explore.

🎶 Saturday June 27th, Join Us for an Inspiring Evening of Music and Hope! 🎶

This year marks the 100th anniversary of The Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square’s historic performance at the Hollywood Bowl, and they’re celebrating with a special concert, Songs of Hope, featuring Donny Osmond and benefiting women and children around the world.

Local stakes from Idaho Falls, Ammon, Shelley, and Firth are coming together for a community watch party at the Mountain America Center on Saturday, June 27.
