Devotional: A Lamp That Never Goes Out
Scripture:
"Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path." — Psalm 119:105 (ESV)

Reflection:
In a world clouded by uncertainty and shifting values, the Word of God remains an active, steady, and unwavering light. It doesn’t flicker with the winds of culture or dim with the passage of time. It is a lamp for our feet—close, personal, and immediate. It is a light for our path—guiding us forward, illuminating the way ahead.

The Heartbeat of Scripture: Shub (שׁוּב)
The Hebrew word shub, meaning to turn, return, restore, pulses through the entire biblical narrative. It captures the rhythm of our relationship with God: we wander, He calls us back. We fall; He lifts us up. We forget, He reminds us. We break; He restores. From Genesis to Revelation, the story is one of return—not just of people to God, but of hearts to truth, of lives to purpose, of creation to its Creator. Even when we fail to keep His Word, God’s mercy invites us to shub—to turn back. His Word lights the way home.

Prayer:
Lord, thank You for Your Word that lights my way. Be my portion today. When I stray, turn me back. When I stumble, lift me up. Let Your mercy meet me in my weakness and let Your truth guide me in strength. Amen.
