CONSIDER CHRIST – GOD IS FOR US
-If God be for us, who can be against us? (Romans 8:31)
-The Lord reigneth. (Psalm 99:1)
-Fear ye not me? saith the LORD: will ye not tremble at my presence, which have placed the sand for the bound of the sea by a perpetual decree, that it cannot pass it: and though the waves thereof toss themselves, yet can they not prevail; though they roar yet can they not pass over it? (Jeremiah 5:22)
-Promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south. But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another. (Psalm 75:6, 7)
-He changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding. (Daniel 2:21)
-Ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled. (Matthew 24:6)
-Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father. The very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows. (Matthew 10:29-31)

-----------THE PURPOSE FOR THE SCRIPTURES---------
(2Timothy 3:14-17)
"But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them; And that from a child thou hast known the holy Scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works."
1. To Teach the Wisdom unto Salvation - "make thee wise unto salvation"
- For the Salvation from Sin's Penalty
(Romans 6:23) "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."
- For the Salvation from Sin's Problems
(Psalm 56:13) "For thou hast delivered my soul from death: wilt not thou deliver my feet from falling, that I may walk before God in the light of the living."
-----This is taught by revealing to us "Doctrine" - to teach us what is Right
-----This is taught by revealing to us "Reproof" - to teach us when things are not Right
-----This is taught by revealing to us "Correction" - to teach us how to get Right
-----This is taught by revealing to us "Instruction in Righteousness" - to teach us how to stay Right
2. To Teach the Way of Salvation - "through faith which is in Christ Jesus"
-The Plan of Salvation - "through faith"
-The Person of Salvation - "Christ Jesus"
3. To Teach the Wonder of Salvation
-The Scriptures teach of a Salvation that Perfects - "That the man of God may be perfect"

CONSIDER CHRIST – TAKING AWAY THE SINS OF HIS PEOPLE

-Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? … He will turn again, he will have compassion upon us; he will subdue our iniquities; and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea. (Micah 7:18,19)
-As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us. (Psalm 103:12)
-Behold, for peace I had great bitterness: but thou hast in love to my soul delivered it from the pit of corruption: for thou hast cast all my sins behind thy back. (Isaiah 38:17)
-I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins. (Isaiah 43:25)
- ... I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people: … For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more. (Hebrews 8:10,12)
-I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, thy transgressions, and, as a cloud, thy sins: return unto me; for I have redeemed thee. (Isaiah 44:22)
-And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross (Colossians 2:13,14)
-Thou hast forgiven the iniquity of thy people, thou hast covered all their sin. Selah. Thou hast taken away all thy wrath: thou hast turned thyself from the fierceness of thine anger. (Psalm 85:2,3)
-And I will cleanse them from all their iniquity, whereby they have sinned against me; and I will pardon all their iniquities, whereby they have sinned, and whereby they have transgressed against me. (Jeremiah 33:8)
-Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins: And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses. (Acts 13:38,39)
-But those things, which God before had shewed by the mouth of all his prophets, that Christ should suffer, he hath so fulfilled. Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord (Acts 3:18,19)

CONSIDER CHRIST – OUR FIRM FOUNDATION

Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure (2 Timothy 2:19)
-upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. (Matthew 16:18)
-that Rock was Christ. (1 Corinthians 10:4)
-For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. (1 Corinthians 3:11)
-Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God; And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone (Ephesians 2:19,20)
-the righteous is an everlasting foundation. (Proverbs 10:25)
-Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation (Isaiah 28:16)
-Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded. Unto you therefore which believe he is precious (1 Peter 2:6,7)
-And have ye not read this scripture; The stone which the builders rejected is become the head of the corner: This was the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes? (Mark 12:10,11)
-Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead … This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. (Acts 4:10-12)

CONSIDER CHRIST - THE LOVELY GOD

-His mouth is most sweet: yea, he is altogether lovely.
(Song of Solomon 5:16)
-My meditation of him shall be sweet: I will be glad in the Lord. (Psalm 104:34)
-As the apple tree among the trees of the wood, so is my beloved among the sons. I sat down under his shadow with great delight, and his fruit was sweet to my taste. (Song of Solomon 2:3)
-For who in the heaven can be compared unto the LORD? who among the sons of the mighty can be likened unto the LORD? (Psalm 89:6)
-My beloved is white and ruddy, the chiefest among ten thousand. (Song of Solomon 5:10)
