SHELBYVILLE CITY CLOSURE

Out of an abundance of caution and concerns with flash freezing of roads and sidewalks, and predicted temperatures in single digits, City Hall and all non-emergency offices will be closed Monday, January 26, 2026. The situation will continue to be monitored and a decision moving forward for the week will be announced by Monday afternoon.

9:15 A.M 1/24/2026 Willow Mount will be closing the gates to traffic due to the weather and as the roads through out the cemetery have been covered this morning. We will post on here once we have them back open.

The back entrance on Dover street is now open from dawn to dusk for our visitors to use 7 days a week. Once this entrance is closed it will not let you out please use the main entrance on lane parkway if the gate is closed as it will open to let you out. If for some reason there is an issue please call 931-684-5682 and leave a message if after hours and someone will call you back to help.

Thanks to the city council allocating funding to improve and maintain cemetery roadways we have finished paving this year. We have added a small parking area to help visitors have more space to park and visit loved ones.

Willow Mount cemetery’s dover street entrance (aka side entrance) will now only be open M-F 7am to 4pm and closed on weekends. This effects ONLY the dover street entrance.

The lane parkway entrance (aka the main entrance) will open at sunrise and close at sundown every day, 365 days a year, should you be in the cemetery after sundown the gate will automatically open when approached from inside the cemetery.
