Dear Beloved in Christ,

By now, many of you will have seen the beautiful, new lettering on our building.

I have written before about Jesus’ parable of the yeast that a woman mixed into a large amount of flour until it worked through the whole dough (Luke 13:20-21). Jesus says, the Kingdom of God is like that yeast. The yeast is mixed in and inseparable from the dough and, though small and hidden, it has a powerful and lasting effect, transforming everything it touches. In much the same way, Church of the Redeemer’s dedication to living as Christ among our neighbors has been a quiet yet significant force in the heart of Shelbyville and Bedford County.

But, Jesus doesn’t say we must hide. Indeed, he encourages us to not hide our light that our heavenly Father may be glorified (Matthew 5:15-16).

We are hopeful our new signage will help us to not be so hidden in plain sight and will help our community connect the good that we do with the church that we love.
