This is what the future of the Church looks like.
Little hands reaching out in prayer. Little hearts learning to recognize the presence of God. Little feet finding their place at the altar.
Our children are not simply watching us worship, they are learning how to pray, how to praise, how to carry one another’s burdens, and how to seek Jesus for themselves. They are learning that when someone is hurting, we gather around them. When someone needs strength, we help pray them through. And when the presence of the Lord begins to move, we are never too young to respond.
Jesus made it clear just how precious children are to Him when He said, “Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.” —Matthew 19:14 KJV
No one is ever too young to praise the Lord, too small to pray a powerful prayer, or too little to be used by God. The same Jesus who hears the prayers of the oldest saint in the church also hears the sincere prayer of the youngest child at the altar.
What a blessing it is to see our young people with tender hearts toward the things of God. We are incredibly blessed and so very proud of each one of them. They are not only the Church of tomorrow, they are an important and precious part of the Church today.
“One generation shall praise thy works to another, and shall declare thy mighty acts.” —Psalm 145:4 KJV
Lord, help us continue to lead them, encourage them, pray over them, and make room for them to experience You for themselves. May the faith they see demonstrated before them become the faith they carry throughout their own lives. Let the fire burning on today’s altar continue to burn brightly in the hearts of the next generation.
