This past Sunday, Misty and I gathered with the saints at Christ Community Church to worship the Lord Jesus. It was a meaningful time for several reasons, which included a testimony during the service from one church member, and praying at the end of the service for two teams that are going out on mission this week. One of their lay leaders, Wes King, brough the message from Psalm 34, which speaks of David's praise to God for rescuing him from his enemies. The psalm also includes David's stated intentions to teach the people to fear the Lord, guard their tongues, turn from evil, and seek peace. This Psalm of David wraps up with a reminder that following the Lord doesn't mean we won't face trouble, but it does mean that God will be with us to deliver us and enable us to do His will. I am thankful along with the folks at Christ Community for what God is doing in and through us. May God bless Pastor Blake and Christ Community and continue to be at work in their midst.

This past Sunday, I had the privilege of preaching at Lighthouse Baptist Church in Shelbyville. I am thankful for this gracious folks in this church and I am praying for them and their pastor, Bro. Allen Baker, that God would bless them with His Spirit and power for the sake of His kingdom and glory.

Yesterday, Campbellsburg BC and Henry County Public Schools kicked off a partnership to provide garden plots through a community garden next to the elementary school. I was glad to be there when Pastor Wes Brockway introduced the partnership and revealed the official name - the David K. Brown Campbellsburg Community Garden. David is a well-known church member, community leader, and the one who tilled and prepared the soil so that participants can grow a garden. There is no cost to participants beyond the purchase of their own seed, plants, and tools. Gardeners simply need to fill out an application through Campbellsburg BC and be assigned a plot.

This past Sunday, Misty and I worshipped the Lord with Pastor Rick Davidson and the saints at Antioch Baptist Church. We enjoyed singing some favorite hymns, and hearing Bro. Rick preach from Genesis chapters 8 and 9. Pastor Rick explored what happened as the arc floated on the water, Noah and his family left the arc, and God made a covenant with Noah and his sons. I found it especially instructive that even though Noah had been determining the status of the dry land about him, he still didn't exit the arc until God instructed him to do so. We also see God's grace at work in the covenant as He promises not to destroy the world again by water, and we see His blessing as He once again calls for humankind (in this case Noah and his family) to go forth and multiply and be stewards of the world. Thank you for the clear message Bro. Rick and for the warm welcome we received from all the folks at Antioch. May God continue to work through Antioch BC for the sake of His name and kingdom.

This past Tuesday, June 2, I made my way out to Bedford Baptist Church where Pastor Mark Payton and his congregation were holding a tent revival on their grounds. The weather was beautiful, the tent was full, the singing was joyful, and the preaching was rooted in the Word of God. Bro. Charlie Goodman, President of Clear Creek Baptist Bible College, was the guest preacher and he brought a great message from Ephesians 5:15-18. To sum up the points of Bro. Charlie's sermon, our walk with Christ should be a converted walk, a careful walk, a confined walk, and a concentrated walk. I always love worshipping the Lord with the gracious folks at Bedford BC. May God bless Bro. Mark and his congregation with wisdom and grace as they proclaim the Good News throughout their community. And may God bless Bro. Charlie as he leads the faculty, staff, and students at Clear Creek, and as he has opportunity to preach.

Thankful for the opportunity this past Sunday to preach at Smithfield Baptist Church. Misty and I always enjoy the drive to the church and, more importantly, the fellowship with our friends who claim this congregation as their church home. May God bless Smithfield BC and continue to work through the to share the Gospel in their community and around the world.

This past Sunday, May 24, Misty and I made our way to Sulphur to worship the Lord with Pastor David Durland and the congregation of Sulphur Baptist Church. Pastor David has been preaching through the book of Matthew and shared a message from chapter 10:26-42. Up to this point in Matthew, Jesus has been equipping the twelve to live as those who have submitted to Jesus as King. Now, He is sending them out to live what He has taught and modelled for them. He warns them of what they will face, and calls them to have a fearless faith. This call to the twelve to is a call to all of us who claim Jesus as Lord and King. Let us go forth in faith as well, living by the truth and sharing the name and love of Jesus.

I was also able to bring to Bro. Some Gospel to Every Home materials that he and the church will be using as they make contact with all the folks who live in the Sulphur area. May God bless their efforts as they go, and may many come to faith in Jesus our Lord!

Sunday evening, on May 17, I went out to Providence Baptist Church, where Pastor Travis Hearne and his congregation were holding their spring revival. The music was led by Soul Serene, a talented group of college students who grew up in the church. And the message was delivered by Bro. Jake Stone, a Baptist historian and the Associate Seminary Librarian at SBTS. Bro. Jake preached from Philippians 1:1-30 and talked about the marks of a Gospel partnership found in the first chapter of Paul's letter to the church in Philippi. These marks include Fellowship in Gospel Grace, Joy in Gospel Proclamation, Confidence in Gospel Living, and Hope in Gospel Suffering. Thank you, Bro. Jake, for a message that was both encouraging and challenging to all in attendance. Bro. Jake will be continuing his series of messages from Philippians over the next three days as Providence BC and their guests gather each evening at 6:30 pm. May God bless them with true revival as they gather to worship Him and listen to His Word.

Sunday, May 17, Misty and I travelled to Trimble County to worship the Lord with the sweet fellowship of believers at Union Grove Church. It was also great seeing Bro. Don Wright and his wife, Bambi. Bro. Don began his time as pastor at the church on the first Sunday in May. Congratulations, Bro. Don! May God bless you and Bambi in this new chapter in ministry. Bro. Don preached from Proverbs 3:1-12 and highlighted 4 "compass points" in the passage that will help guide us as we live for Christ. These compass points are Trusting God, God's Promises, Godly Discipline, and Godly Relationships. Thank you, Bro. Don, for sharing this wisdom from God's Word. I am praying for Pastor Don and Union Grove Church. Won't you pray with me?

Back on Sunday, May 10, I had the privilege of preaching at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church where Bro. Alex McGaughey is the pastor. Misty and I enjoy worshipping the Lord with this congregation. They are always so kind and we are thankful that we could be with them on Mother's Day. Please join us in praying for Pastor Alex and the good folks at Mt. Vernon.
