Refiner’s Fire: The book of Malachai says that God is like a refiner’s fire, purifying the lives of men. Matt Russell shares a dream that God gave him early on a Sunday morning in 2025. This dream goes perfectly with the name of God, Yahweh M’Kaddesh, the Lord Who Sanctifies. As stated in previous posts, God wants to sanctify us (purify our hearts and make us holy) and transform us into the image and character of Jesus Himself. This is the Part 1 of Matt’s dream. Consecration is something we do in presenting ourselves to God for sanctification. He does the purifying, He makes us holy. But He only does this work on our behalf when we present ourselves for that work. To consecrate is to make your entire self an offering to God.

The work of Christ offers us instant justification - the state of forgiveness which wipes away the effect of sin in our lives. But it doesn’t stop there… Christ also begins another miraculous work of grace… sanctification, whereby the progressive, lifelong work of the Holy Spirit makes a believer more like Jesus, transforming a person’s character and actions in everyday life.
