What happens when the world as we know it begins to fall apart?

Psalm 46 doesn't promise that the mountains won't crumble or the waters won't rage. Instead, it gives us a faith sturdy enough to say, "Even if the world as I know it ceases to exist, I will not be afraid, because God is with me."

Fear tells us to hurry, react, protect, and take control. But God says, "Be still, and know that I am God."

In this week's message, we explore what it means to trust God's presence when the world feels anything but steady, and how a church that refuses to be shaped by fear might live differently in an anxious world.

Two very different tables are set for today. At the first, hardly a word will be spoken. At the second, yelling will be encouraged. At both, may all come to the table with childlike wonder as we marvel at what God’s great love has done for us. Amen. 🙏

Our junior high and high school students did an incredible job creating our storyboards for the First Sunday Story Hour!

This is just one of the boards that will be used to teach our 2nd through 6th grade students about the creation story. The First Sunday Story Hour begins after worship tomorrow morning (a little after 10:00) with a galaxy lantern craft and a fun lesson. All are welcome. See you there!

It still feels like the peak of summer, but the new seasonal banners look great, especially with the morning sunlight shining on them.

🙌 Praise God from whom all blessings flow! 🙌

Today we continue our Fully Human series with a message about work, human worth, and how the church responds when economic and technological change threatens to leave people behind.

Looking to the story of Ruth and to our Methodist tradition, we are reminded that our calling is not to keep up with change or resist it, but to cling to one another, protect human dignity, and make sure no one is left to carry the cost alone.

“In tight circumstances, I cried out to the Lord. The Lord answered me with wide-open spaces.” - Psalms 118:5

What a gift it is to live in a place with wide-open spaces that display the awesomeness of God’s beautiful creation.

This morning, let us lift up in prayer all those who find themselves in tight circumstances. May God answer them with wide-open spaces. Amen. 🙏

This Sunday, we’re continuing our Fully Human series by talking about work, human worth, and the changes artificial intelligence may bring to our world.

The church has faced disruptive moments like this before. Methodists have often responded by asking not simply whether progress should happen, but how progress can protect human dignity and serve the common good.

Join us for worship Sunday at 9:00 a.m. as we explore what our faith history might teach us now.

Will artificial intelligence take my job? I see this question asked often, and instead of approaching it sincerely, most answers only stoke an already present fear.

This week in worship, we'll ask a different question. In a developing world destined to eliminate some work, how can we create communities where everyone's needs are met, and dignity and worth are restored to all people?

I encourage you to read all four chapters of Ruth in your devotional time this week. It's an incredible story of God's faithfulness.
