Willow Mount Cemetery

Willow Mount Cemetery Willow Mount Cemetery was established in the mid 1840's, at a time when the Old City Cemetery was reaching full capacity. Wortham, who died October 19, 1844.

The first recorded burial was Frances, infant daughter of James and Catherine M. She was buried on the brow of the hill near the circle drive in range eight. The original survey ran 858 feet east
and west. Nearly six hundred unknown fallen Confederate soldiers rest along the North side of Confederate Lane.
