THE SERMON SERIES at Brookside Missionary Baptist Church:
We all struggle with sin. Some of us struggle with certain sins, while others of us battle different temptations. But we all have the same cure! Jesus and His Word! God has given us the Scriptures not only so we can know the way of Salvation from the penalty of sin, but also so we can know the way of deliverance from the power of sin! Sin doesn't have to rule us. We can be Christ-like. But we need to know what Christ is like. So... He gave us the Scriptures. They speak of Him and how to be like Him. In Christ and His Word we have everything we need for "life a godliness".
In this next sermon of the series, we will deal with the sin of SELF-SOVEREIGNTY! We are not in charge of ourselves. We answer to a Master and Creator God. And For those of us who have trusted in Him, Jesus is also the Saviour to which we owe our eternity! So, when we make choices, who do we consult? What direction do we go as a person, a family, and church? Let's learn what God says together!

We all struggle with sin. Some of us struggle with certain sins, while others of us battle different temptations. But we all have the same cure! Jesus and His Word! God has given us the Scriptures not only so we can know the way of Salvation from the penalty of sin, but also so we can know the way of deliverance from the power of sin! Sin doesn't have to rule us. We can be Christ-like. But we need to know what Christ is like. So... He gave us the Scriptures. They speak of Him and how to be like Him. In Christ and His Word we have everything we need for "life a godliness".
In this next sermon of the series, we will deal with the sin of REBELLION! We are rebels by birth in our sin nature. But we are called to rebel against our nature and against Satan's influence and submit to the true authority and commands of God. Rebellion is also sinful when toward other authorities in our lives. In reality, it is a matter of the heart.

Do you speak highly of yourself personal gain? Do you want the best for yourself at the expense of others? It may sound silly, but do you cut in lines? All of these things are part of the so easily prevalent sin of prideful self-promotion.

WILL YOU PRAY WITH US?!?
Tomorrow evening is our monthly Prayer Service at Brookside Missionary Baptist Church!
We have many things to pray about. This service will focus on PRAISE for what God has done lately as well as PRAYER for the upcoming Fall season of ministry. WE will also pray for missionaries and our prayer requests given in the morning service.
“And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment;
That ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ.
Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God."
- Philippians 1:9-11

But doesn't everyone just worry about things that matter to us? Sure. But, let's learn about how our worrying is a waste and not worthy of our wonderful God. Let's learn how healthy concern and sinful worry are actually two totally different things.
