| Sticks and Stones Can Hurt - But So Can Words

“Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me.”

Many of us grew up hearing this, yet we have learned the painful truth: words do hurt often deeply and for a long time.

In business settings, harsh words, demeaning comments, and cutting emails are far too common. Scripture gives us a better way:

“Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.” (Ephesians 4:29)

What would change in your workplace if we all committed to words that build up?

Some of the most disobedient men never once told God no.

They said yes. They said it with conviction. And then they didn’t move.

We know the type, because we’ve been the type. In the marketplace, we get fluent in the language of alignment, saying the right thing at the right moment until we mistake it for faithfulness.

Jesus had something to say about that, and we need to hear it.
