Sheffield Chapel

Sheffield Chapel Sheffield Chapel is an Evangelical and Second Advent Christian church. Blessings in the name of the LORD to you and your household!

You are pleasantly invited to worship with us any Sunday at 10:30AM. We are a down to earth, family oriented, assembly of believers whose soul-mission it is to lift up the one true God of the Bible to all the world. We encourage questions and the faithful search for answers as well as Spirit filled transformation as we seek to please our perfect Heavenly Father and become more like His Son, Jesus Christ, each new day.

Celebrating 7 baptisms today!

SEASONS OF FORGING
~Written by Jonathan Fredsall~
Here alone the sculptor begins
In the season of forging he starts with a grin
Lonely is the forge in which I was made
But fine steel was crafted on this very day
And the time that it took to make it this way
Years upon decades with constant delays
But the smith with his hammer and anvil too
Was able to shape me like him and like you
Strong and resilient was the blade that he made
Sharp as a razor yet dull as a rock
The sculptor continued until I was not
The smith never aged but the metal was timing
And soon was sold into a new journey rising
The story continues sooner or later
But now to a close rewinding the player
In seasons of forging that is what made
Me this fine steel at the end of the day
Do not thank me but do thank the sculptor
For he is the Lord solely sought after.

Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age. Matthew 28:19-20

The Christ Candle:

The period of Advent ends in the celebration of the Birth of Christ our Savior. In fulfillment of the ancient prophecies, the Virgin Mary brought forth her son in the village of Bethlehem and called His name Jesus. Now we have the wonderful privilege to join with angels and shepherds in proclaiming our Lord’s birth.

Over the four weeks of Advent we lit four candles in our Advent Wreath. First the Candle of Hope reminding us that our hope is in Christ alone. Second, the Candle of Preparation encouraging us to be prepared for His near return when our hope will be fulfilled. Next the Candle of Joy and our hearts overflow with joyful praise because we have been delivered from sin and darkness into the light and life of Jesus Christ. And the Candle of Love because God so loved the world that He gave us the gift of His One and Only Son.

Now at last we light the fifth candle, called the Christ Candle because it stands for Jesus Christ who is God’s gift to us in fulfillment of His ancient promises. But the gift is of no value unless it is received and used, and not just admired. How sad it makes the giver of a gift if that which He sacrificed to give is either rejected or perhaps received but never opened or used.

Let us therefore, determine that we will make room in our hearts for Christ and receive Him as our Savior and Lord. Remember, according to the Word of God, it is only to those who receive Him that He gives the right to become the children of God.
