Resting in Jesus Today
Matthew 11:28–30

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest…”

There is a deep invitation in these words from Jesus Christ, an invitation not to strive harder, not to carry more, but to come. So often, life leaves us tired mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. We carry worries, responsibilities, disappointments, and unseen burdens. Yet Jesus doesn’t ask us to fix ourselves first. He simply says, “Come to me.”

To take His yoke means to walk with Him, not alone. A yoke joins two together, and Jesus is saying, “Let me carry this with you.” His strength replaces our weakness. His peace steadies our anxious hearts. His grace covers what we cannot handle.

Notice His heart: gentle and humble. He is not harsh with you. He is not impatient. He meets you right where you are, with compassion, not condemnation.

The promise is not just physical rest, but rest for your soul. A deep, quiet peace that settles inside you even when life around you is still busy.

Today, release what you’ve been carrying. Lay it at His feet. Trust that His way is lighter, His presence is enough, and His rest is real.

Take rest in Jesus today.

Today’s Prayer:
Lord, I come to You weary and in need of rest. Help me to lay down every burden I’ve been carrying. Teach me to walk with You and trust You more. Fill my heart with Your peace and remind me that I don’t have to do life on my own. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Join us this Easter Sunday at Friendship!

Come celebrate the greatest victory in history as we worship a Risen Savior. The tomb is empty, death is defeated, and hope is alive!

No matter where you’ve been or what you’ve walked through, Easter is a reminder that new life is possible through Jesus Christ. This is a day of joy, renewal, and powerful worship—and we would love for you and your family to be a part of it.

Bring a friend, bring your family, and come expectant. God has something special waiting for you.

Join us at Friendship this Easter Sunday as we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

He is risen!

Day 2 – The Fourth Watch Feels the Longest

Daily Scripture:
Matthew 14:25
Shortly before dawn Jesus went out to them…

Daily Devotion:
The fourth watch of the night is between 3 AM and 6 AM the darkest, most exhausting part of the night.

By this time, the disciples had been fighting the storm for hours.

They were tired. Frustrated.
Probably wondering where Jesus was. But here’s the truth,
Jesus showed up in the fourth watch!

Not at the beginning.
Not in the middle.
But at the moment they were at their weakest.

Because God often waits until:
your strength runs out
your options are gone
your faith is all you have left

So when He shows up, you know it was Him.

Quiet Reflection:
What feels like a “fourth watch” season in your life right now?

Daily Prayer:
Jesus, even when I feel exhausted and forgotten, remind me that You are on the way. Help me hold on until You show up. Amen.

Day 1 – When the Storm Won’t Stop

Daily Scripture:
Matthew 14:24
The boat was already a considerable distance from land, buffeted by the waves because the wind was against it.

Our Devotion:
The disciples were exactly where Jesus told them to be yet they were still in a storm. That means this truth is undeniable:
Obedience does not exempt you from storms.Sometimes we think, “If I’m doing what God said, why is this happening?”
But storms don’t mean you’re out of God’s will—they often mean you’re right in it.

The wind was against them.
The waves were relentless.
And the night felt long.

Have you ever been there?
Doing right, but things still going wrong?
Praying, but nothing changing?
Trusting, but still struggling?

The storm wasn’t sent to destroy them, it was setting the stage for a divine encounter.

Quiet Reflection:
Where in your life does it feel like the wind is against you?

Daily Prayer:
Lord, help me trust You even when the storm doesn’t make sense. Strengthen me to keep rowing when I feel like giving up. Amen.

Day 2 — The Oil Came From Brokenness

Daily Scripture
Psalm 34:18
The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.

The Bible describes the woman simply as a “sinful woman.” Her past followed her everywhere.
Yet her brokenness became the very thing that led her to Jesus!
Sometimes our deepest pain becomes our greatest testimony.
The tears she cried became part of her worship!!

The truth is this:
Oil often comes from crushing.
Just as olives are pressed to produce oil, sometimes God uses the pressures of life to produce something beautiful in us.

Quiet Reflection
How has God used your pain to draw you closer to Him?

Daily Prayer
God, use every part of my story for Your glory.

Day 1 — The Oil Was Expensive

Daily Scripture
Luke 7:37
A woman in that town who lived a sinful life learned that Jesus was eating at the Pharisee’s house, so she came there with an alabaster jar of perfume.

The woman brought an alabaster jar filled with expensive perfume.
In biblical times this oil could cost a year’s wages. It was valuable and rare. Once the jar was broken, it could never be sealed again.
This reminds us that true worship costs something.

Real worship may cost:
pride, reputation, comfort and control. But when you truly encounter Jesus, nothing feels too expensive to give.

Quiet Reflection:
What is God asking you to surrender today?

Daily Prayer:
Lord, help me offer You my best, not my leftovers.

The cross changed everything.

Join us this Sunday for a timely message:
The Message of the Cross

It still saves.
It still heals.
It still has power.

What does the cross mean to you?
