To the members and Friends of St. John’s UCC, Sheboygan
By this time, most of you have been made aware of the arrest and charging of Clayton Michener, a young member of our congregation and talented musician. First of all, the `church’ mentioned in the Television reporting is not St. John’s United Church of Christ and no members of St. John’s other than Clayton are involved.
That being said, as Pastor of St. John’s I feel it is my responsibility to remind us all that we are the people of God, the Body of Christ, the Church and that we will act as the church in this time of distress. I urge you to hold Clayton and the two girls in your prayers along with their families. Please support Jason and Kim, Claire and Cheryl with your prayers and be ready to reach out to them in this time. I beseech you to do all that you can to resist the temptation to gossip or to encourage others to gossip.
There are many emotions that are effecting us all but the greatest of these, St. Paul reminds us, is love. I have been the recipient of your loving forgiveness and I know the power of God is at work in you all. If you wish to speak to me regarding this matter please feel free to contact me in the office (920)452-5296 or call my cell phone(920)254-3511
