Good afternoon...
Work continues to happen behind the scenes to assure meals are prepared and ready to serve 5 days a week.
The packing team meets every Tuesday morning to pack the necessary 300 sack lunches we distribute from 11:00am - 12:00 noon Monday through Friday.
This group consist of approximately 40 volunteers: 7 who pack lunches each Tuesday morning, 23 who work the distribution window throughout the week, 1 person who does the shopping, 4 shower assistants, and 1 CoOrdinator. Add to that 2 Registered Nurses who offer their assistance when any of our guests need special health support and 6 volunteers who provide relief when regular staff volunteers are on vacation or have other reasons they can’t cover their roles. Almost 40 people make this ministry a reality.
Emmanuel Episcopal Church parish members and on some occasions members from our local community fill these positions and have for over 20 years.
* We provide hygiene products such as toothpaste, toothbrushes, soap, shampoo, socks, deodorant, lotion and various seasonal products. If you wish to donate any of these items contact the main number at the church.
* We always appreciate gently used clothing appropriate to the season for men and women.
* A facility is available for those needing a warm shower. An appointment is usually coordinated by those serving at the window. Shower days are:
Monday afternoon at 3:00-5:00
Tuesday & Thursday at 11:00-12:00
