SHAW BAPTIST CHURCH WELCOMES NEW PASTOR
At a special deacon’s meeting Sunday, March 19, 2023, the committee voted to welcome Dr. Park Neff as the new pastor at Shaw Baptist Church. Their invitation was joyfully accepted by Dr. Neff.
Dr. Neff is a native of the Mississippi Delta and a retired farmer and pastor. He farmed for many years before being called into fulltime pastoral ministry. He earned his Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry degrees from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and has served several churches in the Delta as pastor and as interim. He enjoys hunting, canoeing, beekeeping, and is also an accomplished plein air painter. He currently serves as President of the board of Arms of Mercy, a ministry which helps men, women and their families who are affected by substance abuse. Dr. Neff is a Rotarian, with almost 48 years of perfect attendance, and has attended Rotary meetings around the world.
He and Sharon, his wife of 47 years, live in Arcola, MS. Sharon has been involved in the Women’s Missionary Union (WMU) for many years, serving as president of the Mississippi WMU and as a vice-president of the National WMU from 2009-2013. The Neff’s have two grown daughters and six grandchildren.
Everyone is welcome to join our congregation in Christian worship, living the gospel of Christ, serving our community, and fellowship. Services at Shaw Baptist Church are held each Sunday at 11:00 a.m., with Sunday School preceding at 10:00 a.m.
