Camp Tamarack (NCNC-UCC)

Camp Tamarack (NCNC-UCC) A United Church of Christ outdoor summer camp and retreat tradition since 1958! Camp Tamarack is a rustic and beautiful site situated on Forest Service land.

Camp Tamarack has served as a summer youth and retreat space for the United Church of Christ for over 40 years. The camp is located at an elevation of 7,500 feet in the Sierra National Forest between Shaver Lake and Huntington Lake along Highway 168, and is nestled between the Kaiser and Dinkey Lakes Wilderness Areas. The camp features a large meadow, a creek, numerous paths and hiking trails, swi

mming holes, and opportunities for rock climbing and relaxation. The camp is open in the summer only. Free of the grid, there is no electricity, the lodge is lit by solar power, there is gar refrigeration in the kitchen and the centrally located bathrooms have hot showers. The Northern California Nevada Conference of the United Church of Christ hosts weeklong summer camps for youth ranging between the ages of 10 and 18 at featured Junior, Jr. High and Sr. High School Summer Camps. Camp Tamarack is also a favorite retreat spot for nearby Fresno County UCC congregations who use the space for family camp and other events. Near Shaver Lake, Camp Tamarack is 60 miles northeast of Fresno and is completely remote.
