"Paradise lies at the feet of your mother." - Prophet Muhammad (pbuh).
Respect and care for your mothers, and seek to comfort them always. What easier way to attain eternal bliss. The Quran says about parents, "Say not to them [so much as] "uff," and do not repel them but speak to them a noble word." (17:23)
About wives, the Quran says: "And live with them with kindness and equity." Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) said: "The best of you are those who are best to their women." He also said: ".. Feed her (your wife) when you eat and clothe her when you clothe yourself and do not strike her, do not malign her and do not keep apart from her."
It pains me to see women treated badly in many parts of the world. Play your part to end domestic violence & spousal abuse in your communities.
Regarding daughters, the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) said: “He who is involved in bringing up his daughters and is generous to them, will have them as a fortification for himself against the Hellfire." Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) also made it obligatory for parents to educate their daughters and give them inheritance rights.
Female infanticide, which was not uncommon in seventh century Arabia, was condemned by the Quran. “And when to one of them is conveyed the tidings of the birth of a female, his face darkens, while he suppresses his inward grief. He hides himself from the people because of the bad news he has had: ‘Shall he keep it in spite of disgrace or bury it in the dust?’ Verily, evil is that which they judge.” (16:58-59)There is no shame in having a daughter, said Islam. In fact, daughters are equally, if not more honorable than sons.
Love women. Respect them. Honor them.
