Healing Balm Ministries

Healing Balm Ministries Healing Balm Ministries is an inner city church located in the heart of the borough of Darby Township, Pennsylvania. Our focus is on you, the individual.

Our hearts and arms are open an extended to all who are whole, and to those who are in need of being made whole. We are a church that is inclusive of all and exclusive of none. The gospel (good news) that we preach is for the total man; man is made up of body, soul, and spirit. With a steadfast conviction, we are striving to pursue our dream and vision of becoming a multicultural church. We envisi

on this by fostering and cultivating a culture of oneness and by embracing each other's differences. Given this, we will produce a people that are empowered and will discover, developed, and deploy their spiritual gifts. Our message is: Christ was crucified, buried and resurrected. We are ever led by the Holy Spirit, promoting Christ as the head of the church. Healing Balm Ministries was born out of pain, pressure and persecution. It is our desire that our name will become a reality in the lives of our people here, and also to those who visit. ChurchTrac Calendar

✨ Sunday Takeaways: When the Glory Fills the Temple ✨

What an incredible word this morning from Apostle Lynette Hammond!

We were deeply challenged to move beyond "doing church" and truly position ourselves for a divine encounter.
If you missed it or just want to reflect, here are the powerful takeaways from today’s message:

1. Obedience Precedes the Presence 🕊️
The Tabernacle (Exodus 40): God’s glory filled the tabernacle only after Moses and the Israelites followed His specific instructions.

The Lesson: God’s presence descends upon what is surrendered, prepared, and in order. When the Holy Spirit truly moves, human effort yields, chains break, and lives are supernaturally changed.

2. Unity Attracts the Glory 🤝
Solomon’s Temple (2 Chronicles 5): The glory fell when the worshipers and musicians came together "as one," with one sound and one focus.

The Lesson: Division repels what unity attracts. When God’s glory takes over, we have to be willing to let Him interrupt our planned programs and schedules to let the Holy Spirit do the preaching, healing, and delivering.

3. YOU Are the Temple 🏛️
The New Covenant (1 Corinthians 3:16): The same glory that once filled physical buildings now resides inside of us through the Holy Spirit.

The Lesson: You are a "living stone" carefully shaped and positioned by God. No one is insignificant—everyone has a necessary place and purpose! As we are built together, our ultimate goal is holiness, which creates the atmosphere where His glory dwells.

🌟 The Call to Action:

Arise & Shine!
The church is not a physical building; we are a people being built together to carry and reveal God's presence to a dark world. Let’s get up from our places of limitation this week and reflect the brilliant glory of God to everyone we meet!

“Do What God Expects “
Bishop Joseph and Pastor Esther Purnell

As I reflect on the sermons about wealth and prosperity, I'm reminded that Jesus' mission was not about material riches, but about reconciliation and restoring our relationship with God. Anyone can attain wealth, but true fulfillment comes from living a life of purpose and faith. Can we truly preach about prosperity to our brothers and sisters in developing countries without acknowledging the vastly different realities they face? If our message isn't universally applicable, does it truly reflect the timeless gospel?

Takeaways from today’s Sermon Title: Tugs of War
Text: Romans 7:14-25

The Internal Struggle: Every believer faces a continuous, universal "tug of war" between their spiritual nature that desires to follow God and their carnal nature that is drawn to sin.

The Limitation of the Law: While the Mosaic Law is holy, it only has the power to reveal and arouse sin; it cannot provide the strength to overcome it.

Empowerment Through Grace: Christ's death frees believers from the dominion of sin, providing divine empowerment through the Holy Spirit to resist temptation and live righteously.

Three Operating Laws: The internal conflict plays out through three forces: the Law of God (the spirit's delight), the Law of Sin (the corrupt fleshly nature), and the Law of the Mind (the renewed conscience transformed by Scripture).

Deliverance Solely Through Christ: True freedom and deliverance from this struggle cannot be achieved through human willpower or self-help, but only by humbly relying on Jesus Christ.

The Spirit of Truth Women’s Fellowship gathered today at the church for an intimate and soul-stirring book club session. We were blessed to have 21 women join us for a deep dive into the first three chapters of Joanna Weaver’s transformative book. The atmosphere was one of sisterhood, vulnerability, and a shared desire to find peace in our often chaotic lives.

Please watch for the next session date. Our sincere thanks to Sis. Latanya Pierce and her team for organizing such a successful gathering.
