Rex Gore relates the following that happened Monday at Thistle Golf Course.

Pastor Joe has been preaching about how we should live and be witnessing to help others move through "life to life everlasting." How we witness it in our daily lives makes a difference. I returned to play golf on Monday after missing a few weeks with a medical issue. As I was handing out scorecards to some of the guys, one of them ask how I was doing (Rick Richard.) I told him about my concerns with my blood pressure but explained I thought I was doing better. He turned to me and after explaining he was an Elder in the Presbyterian Church, asked if he could lay hands on me and pray. Right there on the putting green, he laid his hands on me and prayed for my health to improve. It sent a sense of calm through me. He was an example of faith that that Pastor Joe is asking us to be to help folks through "life to life everlasting." I thank GOD for Rick's witness.

This is my Dad—UG Gore—with my daughter in 1970. He was special. He never finished grade school but promised his sons an education if they wanted it; we did and now thank him. He was a living example of what it takes to be a father. This week our FOCUS Sunday School class will be celebrating what means to be a Godly blessed father, discussing ten things scripture says about being a father. You can join us on ZOOM or in person beginning at 9:30. In the meantime, share a photo or memory of your dad with us. It will enrich all our lives to be reminded. ON BEING A FATHER

Due to the weather conditions and likelihood of ice in our parking lot and walkways, we are canceling ALL onsite services for tomorrow. That does not mean you have to miss church, however. You can join Pastor Joe at 10:45 on ZOOM or any of our digital platforms as he shares his message with us.

We also urge you to join us for Virtual Sunday School beginning at 9:30 for a time of sharing news about our Calvary family and the kickoff of our Bible Study on “Five Things Jesus Wants Us to Do in 2022. We’ll begin with a look tomorrow at the Sermon on the Mount. Then for the next five weeks we will discuss His teachings on what we should be doing in our daily lives to be effective messengers on His Good News.

After much prayer and consideration, the leadership team at Calvary has decided to delay resumption of in-person services and meetings until the week of Sunday, September 12, 2021. This decision means we will not have on-site services as originally planned for this coming Sunday at Calvary. In the meantime, all church services and meetings will be broadcast virtually. You can tune-in to any services or meetings on Wednesdays and Sundays utilizing the links on our Church Website. Be Safe.
