Seymour First United Methodist Church

Seymour First United Methodist Church All services are both in -person as well as livestreamed. Morning Worship is at 10:15 AM. Join us for worship on Sunday mornings at 10:15 a.m.

We use a variety of music styles in our worship service. Families are encouraged to worship together and children of all ages are invited to attend the worship service. The service is offered virtually and in-person with mask policy based by the CDC color indicator for the county. We have a special time set aside in each worship service for a Children's Message-this is a special message just for the children.

Dear faith-family of First UMC and friends,

As discussed 2 weeks ago, I will be providing some details of the children's church curriculum in this section each week for a while. That way when you interact with our kids you can reinforce it, but you can also use it when you speak with kids in your family, neighbors, and such. It has some great messaging, even if you only get the short summary here.

This Sunday in the "Living Positively in a Media Age" module, session 2 is "Finding Balance." The key point is Jesus knew the value of a well-balanced life. In Matthew 6:21 he says, "For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." So the kids in this module will do a spiritual checkup in a way. Are they good stewards of their bodies, getting sufficient exercise, nutrition, and mental stimulation? Are they living in community, building relationships with friends, families, and neighbors? Are they nurturing their faith through prayer, Bible reading, worship, and Christian fellowship? Wow! Maybe it would be good for each of us to do a spiritual checkup also! I know I think I may.

In His service,
Rev. Teresa
