Today is Holy Trinity Sunday.

If you didn’t do so in church this morning (we did!), I’d encourage you to read the Athanasian Creed today.

Then, for a bit of lighthearted fun, check out the video on the Trinity from Lutheran Satire.

The problem with using analogies to explain the Holy Trinity is that you always end up confessing some ancient heresy.Let the patron saint of the Irish show ...

On Memorial Day we remember those men and women who have paid the ultimate price to protect our freedoms, including the freedom of religion. Because of their sacrifices, we can gather together with other believers without fear and for that we are very grateful.

We pray that you will all have a wonderful day with friends and family and look forward to seeing you next Sunday.

This Sunday is Pentecost. As we prepare to celebrate and remember the coming of the Holy Spirit following Jesus’ ascension, here’s a short video from Dr. Cooper about the Holy Spirit. He has some longer videos on his channel that dig much deeper into the topic, too, for anyone who would like more information.

“But let the righteous be glad;
Let them rejoice before God;
Yes, let them rejoice exceedingly.
Sing to God, sing praises to His name;
Extol Him who rides on the clouds,
By His name Yah,
And rejoice before Him.
Psalm 68:3–4, NKJV

Throughout history, there were days honoring mothers even in the days of ancient Greece. In 1908 Ana Jarvis began a campaign to establish a national Mothers' Day. Jarvis persuaded her mother's church in Grafton, West Virginia to celebrate Mothers' Day on the anniversary of her mother's death. In 1914, President Woodrow Wilson declared that the second Sunday of May would be the national observance of Mothers' Day.

“Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: 'Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all.'” (Pr. 31:28-29)

Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers out there.

When Lutherans say we believe in “sola scriptura” or “scripture alone”, what exactly does that mean? Here’s a quick video from Dr. Cooper that explains. If you’d like to learn even more, he has an entire playlist on YouTube dedicated to the topic.

But you have carefully followed my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, love, perseverance, persecutions, afflictions, which happened to me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra—what persecutions I endured. And out of them all the Lord delivered me. Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution. But evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived. But you must continue in the things which you have learned and been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them, and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.
