For the safety of all members, friends and community we will not gather in person tomorrow, February 1st. We ask that you stay home, warm and have church in your living room.
This is a devotion from a member that you can come back to:
❄️ Sunday- Living Room Devotion: "Finding Rest in the Storm"
Opening Prayer
"Lord, we thank You for the beauty of Your creation, even in the cold and snow. As we gather in our homes today, we invite Your Spirit into our living rooms. Though we are physically distanced, we are united in Your love. Calm our hearts and speak to us in the stillness. Amen."
Scripture Reading: Psalm 46: 1,10
"God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble... He says, 'Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.'"
A Short Reflection
Often, our lives move at a frantic pace. We are constantly "going"—to work, to school, and even to church. Today, the weather has forced us to stop. While snow can be a disruption, it is also a blanket of silence over the world.
In the Bible, God often spoke in the "still, small voice" rather than the whirlwind. Today, take the time to look out the window at the white snow and remember that God is your refuge. He isn't just found in a church building; He is with you on your sofa, at your kitchen table, and in the quiet moments of your home.
Use this Sabbath to rest, to pray for your neighbors, and to "know" Him in the stillness.
Discussion Questions (For families or individuals)
* What is one thing you are thankful for in this "forced" moment of rest?
* Who is one person in our community who might be struggling in this cold that we can pray for right now?
* How can we carry this "stillness" into the busy week ahead?
Stay warm, stay safe, and be at peace this weekend.
