Friends, we are safe here in TN where we live but please pray for those in the mountain communities of North Carolina. They are suffering immense neglect from our irresponsible, uncaring, unamerican executive administration and they are struggling to survive.
So many at this time in that community and in Lebanon, Israel, etc- I know- must be asking themselves the really imperative questions. The truth is, we forget, it takes only one split second and all of our lives can be swiftly washed out from under us like a rushing flood. In the blink of an eye everything can be different, lost, gone.
Therefore, I challenge you to challenge yourself and what you believe or what you may have been avoiding reconciling with. The reality that death comes for us all and that something happens to us as eternal souls, is just that--REALITY.
Someone I used to know once pointed at a wall and said," If this is all of history," and then proceeded to draw a tiny circle on the wall. "And this tiny spot is my life... I want to fit everything I can into that spot and not have any regrets."
Fine. But the truth is more like this... say the wall is infinite space and time (God) and that tiny spot is the life you lived here for yourself and only your wants and desires. Now you have the rest of that wall and where will you be BECAUSE of who you were to others in that tiny space? You may not be prepared for or even believe in the answer. But your disbelief will not save you from reality.
You may not be Christian, Catholic, a follower, a believer. But what if you are wrong?
What if Christ is real? He is who He claims to be? What if there is a narrow gate to salvation? What if you are gambling with eternity?
Or maybe you fell off the wagon. What if along the way you lost that feeling of God with you? Did you lose faith and hope? Just know you are not alone. A feeling doesn't make or unmake the reality that God IS. Feelings mean nothing. Maybe you have too many unsatisfied doubts or questions. Knowledge and understanding is not going to undo the truth either. Sometimes when we are dry in our journey and at other times suffering.... this is not a moment God is vacant. It does not mean that God doesn't exist when you don't have that special feeling or cant answer every question. It means He is trusting you to lean into your cross, kiss it like He did, and take that step forward.
When we suffer in faith or in life, that is what we call a purifying moment, a strength test. What happens when you lose footing or balance, you correct yourself right? The same goes for that faith walk. Persevere and lean in to Christ. He will carry that with you and on the other side of this road to calvary, He will have made you stronger and your bond with Him will gain in so many ways.
But what if you have never felt God or have all those doubts? They say the longest and hardest leap to make is the one from the HEAD to the HEART. In other words, stop trying to compute the mysteries of God. Start trying to invite Him in and trust that in His time, you will be overflowing with satisfaction in love and understanding.
I pray for all of you and I know soon, Christ will come and show us all who He is, that He IS but even more needed is how He will show us our own selves. Christ is coming to put a mirror up in our faces and show us our lives through HIS EYES. All the ways we have broken ourselves, our neighbors, and HIS OWN SACRED HEART. It is coming. It is time to ask ourselves the hard questions and put combat boots on the ground. I don't think anyone can deny the world is going nutz. Why is that? Because there is a war going on for souls and if you are losing it may be because you don't know you are in the midst of the front lines. Quit taking shrapnel and pick up the weapon of prayer, humility and obedience to Our Lord Jesus. He is, He was, and He always will be. That is a fact. Join Him for all eternity to be loved beyond your understanding and fulfilled more than you could imagine.
