MBBE is an indigenous mission founded in
1999 by Pastor Paul Assignon in Togo for the
purpose of reaching French-speaking West
African countries for Christ. The Lord has
blessed this ministry greatly; there are presently
11 churches which have been planted in four regions in Togo with 12 national pastors working
under Pastor Paul’s direction.
Pastor Paul was born in Lomé, the capital of
Togo, in 1958. He trusted Jesus Christ as his
personal Savior and Lord at a Baptist Church in
Lomé.
Paul was called to full-time ministry by the
Lord in 1983. He received his Master of Ministry
Degree from Baptist Bible Seminary, Clarks
Summit, PA.
His life verse is Acts 20:24
“But none of these things move me, neither
count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might
finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which
I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the
Gospel of the grace of God.”

OUR MOTTO: TO KNOW CHRIST AND
TO MAKE HIM KNOWN TO OTHERS
We have a greater opportunity today than
the Apostle Paul ever had. The problem is that
we do not appreciate and capitalize on the
opportunities God has given to us. Imagine if
the Apostle Paul could see all the facilities and
potential we have to reach the unreached for
Christ. How he would like to be on television,
beamed by satellite, travel by plane, and have
the fast communication of telephone, fax and
email. He certainly would not have had to send
Timothy on foot to deliver his letters!
Imagine how he would use these facilities to
reach out to the lost. The Apostle Paul isn’t
here, but we are! God is depending on us! He
uses men and women who are willing to go out
for Him in various ways. Some may go out to
other lands, others may lift those who go in
prayer, and still others may support them
financially. But what is interesting is that they all
go. This is incredible! “THEY ALL GO”
This is the time we must step out and serve
the Lord and be grateful for the opportunity to
serve. A medical doctor who was a missionary in
Chad (Central Africa) said: “I turned, and what
crushed me more than anything else was not the
fact that she had died, but that she died having
never once heard the Gospel message.
Thousands of people die every day, and they
have never heard about Jesus”.
From the far North of Togo to the far
South, there are great opportunities, but “the
laborers are few”. Millions of Africans are
roaming, seeking, and still yearning for that which
Jesus Christ alone can give. But the inspired
question of a former missionary is still pertinent
to the present scene:
How then shall they call on him in whom
they have not believed? And how shall they
believe in him of whom they have not
heard? And how shall they hear without a
preacher? And how shall they preach,
except they be sent?” Romans 10: 14-15
Africa can no longer be called a “dark”
continent in terms of ignorance and lack of
civilization, but it is still in darkness when it
comes to the knowledge of Jesus Christ. Please
join us to reach French-speaking peoples in
West Africa with the Gospel message.
