If you are anywhere near Louisa, KY, this week, you’re going to want to get to this meeting! They’ve already had some saved and baptized today, and we are looking for God to continue to move in mighty ways in the nights to come. We are so thankful for the privilege to take part, and we hope to see you at Meades Branch!🙌🏻

What a glorious 3 days the Lord gave us at Point of Faith Church this weekend! The Holy Spirit was in our midst in every service. We thank God for Pastor Mark Mayes and the church family for their hospitality, encouragement, and all of the work they put in.

It was such a joy to be able to serve with our sweet family once again! We don’t take these opportunities for granted. What a privilege it is to stand beside them and share the greatest story ever heard in both song and Word.

We so appreciate Noah Carillon and Ralphie Boyce for coming to help us in the band, and we praise the Lord for how He used Emma Beauchamp Rinehart’s singing on Friday night.

On Saturday, we received the greatest surprise and blessing, as the Hollowell family drove over from Kentucky to be with us in service. It was so wonderful to get to worship with them again, as they sang the glory down on Saturday night!🙌🏻

Our cups are full after this wonderful weekend, and we thank our Savior again for the privilege it is to serve Him in this capacity.

John 3:16 - It’s been called the golden text of the Bible. It’s likely the most memorized and recognized verse in all of Scripture, and it’s probably the first verse you learned in Sunday School.

But have you ever considered the setting in which it was shared in the Bible?

I don’t dare try to imply that I know better than God regarding where this verse was placed and shared in His Word, but from a human, finite mind, have you ever wondered why He didn’t allow Matthew to include it in the Sermon On The Mount? I mean, there were multitudes that were gathered there that would have heard about how God loved them so much that He sent His one and only Son to die, so that whoever believes in Him would not perish but have everlasting life.

But this was not the setting that God chose to deliver this verse.

Well, let’s share it with John the Baptist, and he will thunder it forth from the wilderness or the banks of the Jordan River.

If not him, then certainly the Apostle Paul. Let’s share John 3:16 with him, and he will take this glorious message all over the world! (I know, he did anyway😄)

But, no. God didn’t chose any of these settings or these people in which to give us John 3:16. He didn’t even give it to the disciples when they were gathered together so many times to hear His teaching. And do you know why? Because I believe God is teaching us a monumental principle in how, and to whom, Jesus shared this verse.

Here it is - the gospel is PERSONAL!! It was shared in a one-on-one setting. Not to multitudes, not to a group, and not in a synagogue. The gospel is for everyone, but I’m so thankful it came to me personally as a 6-year old boy.

Secondly, we need to notice who it was shared with. John 3:16 was shared with someone who was seeking. Someone who had trouble understanding the things he had heard Jesus say. Nicodemus had a head knowledge but not a heart knowledge. He was well-versed in the Scriptures, but he did not understand what it meant to be born again. John 3:16 is for anyone who is curious, who has questions, who doesn’t understand “Bible language.” It’s for the self-righteous person who is being drawn to Jesus. It’s for people like Nicodemus who realized there is more to life than position, power, and prestige.

John 3:16 is for me! John 3:16 is for you! It’s for our families, our friends, and our co-workers. John 3:16 is for the world.

If you knew my Dad, he would describe it like this, “John 3:16. I don’t understand it, but it sure makes a cold boy warm. It sure makes a dirty boy clean. It makes a hungry boy full, and it makes a lost boy saved!!”🙌🏻

Looking forward to joining our family in Point Pleasant later this week for a 3-day revival at Point of Faith Church. We are so grateful to Pastor Mark Mayes and the church for hosting this meeting, and we are asking the Holy Spirit to be present in each service in a special way. Patty, Jeff, and Ron Duncan, Jr. will also be there to sing, so we are excited to see what the Lord is going to do this week!

If you are in the area, we would love to see you!

Thankful for the great day God blessed us with at Simpsonville FWB Church yesterday! The Holy Spirit met with us in both services, and it was a joy to be able to spend some time with Pastor Chris Jackson, his wife, Nancy, and their church family. We also want to thank the neighboring pastors who joined us in last night’s service. They were a blessing and encouragement to us. Looking forward to being back at Simpsonville in September for their Jubilee!🙌🏻
