This morning I attended a wonderful joint worship service with Cheohee Baptist Church & Retreat Baptist Church. These two churches unamousely approved entering into a church partnership for the next eighteen months! I am overjoyed and can’t wait to see what God does through this beautiful partnership! Thank you to Pastor Ken Reid (Interim at Retreat), Pastor Louis Venable (Pastor at Cheohee) and the congregations of both of these churches for your obedience to the leadership of the Holy Spirit! Today was certainly a historic day for the Beaverdam Baptist Association!

The Beaverdam Baptist Association has been in weekly contact with Pastors in Western North Carolina concerning what their needs are. With the temperatures dropping drastically this week, we have been informed that one of the greatest needs in Western North Carolina right now is for SEASONED FIREWOOD. Yes, they have trees down all over the mountains, however, those trees are too green to be used for firewood this winter. We were told by the Pastor that people had plenty of firewood ready for the winter but the floods washed most of their firewood away.

The Beaverdam Baptist Association will be accepting donations of split, SEASONED FIREWOOD through Friday evening.
NO OTHER DONATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED AT THIS TIME. Plans are to leave out at 6:30 Saturday morning and deliver the firewood to Snow Hill Baptist Church (Bakersville) as well as to a second drop off point in Western NC identified by the Pastor.

We are asking that all firewood donations be dropped off at the Beaverdam Baptist Association (215 N. Townville Street). Please stack the wood up on the sidewalk underneath the donation sign. Again, we are asking for donations of SPLIT, READY TO BURN SEASONED FIREWOOD at this time.

Due to the devastation caused by the recent tropical storm in Western North Carolina, the October 22 leaf trip has been cancelled. Authorities in Western NC have asked that no tour groups visit the area at the present time. The Asheville Farmers Market (one of our planned stops in Asheville) is presently being utilized as a command center for the rescue/recovery operations.

Those registered for the trip can:

1. Request a refund by calling Emily at the Association Office at 864-882-7070.

2. Choose to have your registration fee donated to the Beaverdam Baptist Association’s Western North Carolina Disaster Assistance Fund.

Day 2 of our Western NC Disaster Relief effort is underway. Yesterday we filled a trailer and everything donated yesterday was delivered last night to the First Baptist Church in Swannanoa, NC. Thank you so much for being such a blessing! Today we’re receiving the same items as yesterday (Bottled water, diapers, wipes, baby formula, feminine hygiene products, snacks - cookies & crackers). The latest need requested is socks and underwear for the volunteers/workers. According to the Fire Chief this is a huge need as they have no way to wash their clothes.

We will be receiving donations today (Wednesday) and Thursday from 9-5. We could use some volunteers today and especially tomorrow (Thursday). If you would like to volunteer please join us at the Beaverdam Mission Center in Seneca.

The devastation in Western NC is unbelievable! Starting Tuesday morning at 9:00 AM through Wednesday at 5:00 PM the Beaverdam Baptist Association will be receiving items that have been requested by First Responders in the Swannanoa, NC area. There is no running water, no shelter, and no supplies. As sad as this is to write they are "storing" bodies from the flooded river at the local jail. The destruction is unimaginable! There are many needs that have been identified at this time: Bottle Water Baby Formula Diapers Wipes (a huge need as there is no running water) Food (crackers & snacks for the volunteers as supplies are
running low)
We ask that you bring ONLY the items listed as we do not have a way to store or transport additional items at this time.
Again, we will begin receiving donations starting Tuesday morning at 9:00 AM at the Beaverdam Baptist Association building in downtown Seneca, SC (215 N. Townville Street, Seneca, SC 29678).
If you would like to volunteer at the Association Building please feel free to show up during these hours.

What are your greatest needs right now?
The Beaverdam Baptist Association has deployed our Disaster Relief Shower/Laundry Unit as well as our Chainsaw Unit. We would like to help meet additional needs that are out there but we need your help identifying what those needs may be. We have cases of hand sanitizer available as long as supplies last. As we seek to serve our communities we want to collect only the items that are priority needs at this point. Help us identify what those needs are.
