After an exceptionally busy May, we are ending the month on a quieter note, as several groups have begun a summer hiatus. But remember, the church is open every day for private prayer, and several groups will meet through the month of June. Did you know that we have several parishioners who are Gold Star families? Each of them has a family member -- a spouse, sibling, child, or parent -- who died in service to our nation. On Memorial Day, we honor, remember, and pray for them and their loved ones. This is why we do not say "Happy" Memorial Day. It is a day of solemn remembrance.

As Christ told us, "No greater love has anyone than this, to lay down one's life for one's friends" (John 15:13). May the fallen rest in peace and may their families be comforted by our gratitude for their sacrifice.

Blessings on Pentecost Sunday!

Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful
and kindle in them the fire of your love.

Send forth your Spirit and they shall be created,
and you shall renew the face of the earth.

A powerful intercessor when life is hard... St. Dymphna, pray for us!

EN: St. Dymphna, patron of those struggling with mental illness, reminds us that no one suffers alone. In every hidden battle and anxious thought, the Lord sees you, loves you and walks with you.

St. Dymphna, pray for all who are burdened in mind and heart, that Christ may bring them peace and healing!
