It may appear to you that God doesn’t care about injustice. (A few days ago) When Naboth was killed by the king to get his vineyard…. I was angry. (pg.558)

Naboth was obeying God’s word and evil won as Jezebel plotted his death to get his vineyard.

But in Today’s reading: The Lord settles accounts!!!
Probably the most encouraging part of the reading. This life isn’t all there is for justice and righteousness. There is a sovereign Lord who sees and knows everything. He will have the final say with justice either in this life or the next.

Even the details that Jehu caught them … “at the land belonging to Naboth” 😳.

Lord says: “I will avenge the murder of my prophets and all servants killed by Jezebel!”🔥

Lastly: Jehu. Joram. Jehoram. Jezebel. Jezreel. ….. don’t lose the most important message trying to keep all the characters and places straight. This is God’s résumé!

Answered prayers:
- O, Lord open his eyes and let him see…. he saw the hillside filled with chariots of fire.

- O, Lord make them blind. So the Lord struck them as Elisha had asked.

Look at all the things the Lord “causes” and all that happens “just as the Lord had promised”. “Everything happened exactly as the man of God had predicted.”(v.17)

Is your confidence in God deepening as you read His Word?

Day 166
Well I’m not making fun of any bald people after today 😂

So many unusual miracles in the life of Elijah and Elisha. Pointing to the True Prophet that would ultimately save people from their sin.

There only 2 people that never died and were just taken to heaven. Elijah is one. Chariots and horses of fire. I would have loved to see that 😳

Last line today: “… just as the Lord had promised” …. are there promises in the Bible that you struggle to believe???

Day 165.

We are into the deep parts of the Bible that most Christians never read 😳

With all the names and places and prophets don’t get overwhelmed and miss the main point of it all. The only thing that mattered was: “whether or not they followed the Lord”.

Elijah- “If I am a man of God, let fire from heaven destroy all 50 men!” And what do you think happens? 😂

The Lord is more sovereign than we ever know. He is also the safest one to bow down to while you still have breath.

"Why should you help the wicked and why love those who hate the Lord" .... because of this the Lord is angry with you!!! Thoughts on that?

Notice a theme: "Everything happened just as the Lord had promised" This is no less true today with Gods Word.

Jehoshaphat appointed judges and reminded them to only be swayed by the fear of the Lord and not bribes or partiality.

What if we had our personal conversations dictated by that same rule?

It was hard to stop reading today… I wanted to know what the prophet Micaiah was gonna say 😁

“Because you have Not obeyed the voice of the Lord a lion will kill you” …. and it did!
People will go to hell because they didn’t obey the Gospel. (The Gospel is putting your hope in God’s way to escape the coming judgment…. Jesus the Savior)

Elijah answered: “I have come because you sold yourself to what was evil in the Lord’s sight…”
Pretty much sums up what is happening when we Choose Sin over Choosing the Lord.

“How long will you waver between two opinions? If the Lord is your God, serve Him …. If not then Make a decision” 😳
To say it plainly: If he’s not your Lord, you have rejected God.

Elijah’s competition-
“Lord prove today that you are God so these people will know you have answered me” 450 prophets of baal are slaughtered.

David Platt’s Secret church this year was on Elijah. If you went
you’ll never look at this story the same.

Are these messages helping you grow spiritually or are they annoying? 🤷‍♂️😁
