The goal of each believer and followers of Jesus is to be more like Jesus. When Jesus said that He is the Light of the world, we are to reflect that Light. Light is meant to be a beacon of hope, comfort, peace, love, and warmth. We cannot be a reflection of His Light if we don't bring the attributes of the Light to the world. The people in Antioch, in Acts, called them who were believing in Jesus. Because they were trying to be like Jesus. Actually, the name was more of an insult than honor. The unbelieving world will always make fun of a follower of Jesus especially when we talk about our religion instead of our relationship with Jesus. If our goal is to be a reflection of the Light who is Jesus, we need to show the world hope, comfort, peace, love, and warmth. Instead of complaining about a homeless person, remember Jesus was homeless. Jesus had compassion by healing, the sick, the lame. Jesus had compassion for the woman who was caught in adultery and forgave her sin, yet He could have thrown a stone. The pr******te that washed His feet with tears and hair came to Jesus for the comfort of the Light. So, remember that if we are to reach the lost of the world, we truly must be like Jesus. Yes I hate the sin of the world. Jesus hated the sin, yet He was willing to be mocked and crucified for the sin of the world. So, we could have all the comfort of The Light and The forgiveness of God through Jesus, who gave us this great gift.
