JUNE 2 - PROVERBS 16:9 “In their hearts humans plan their course, but the LORD establishes their steps.”

This Scripture should make us laugh about “our” plans. It lets us know that our “To Do List” can be totally thrown away by the Lord whenever He thinks best.

When the Lord chooses to change our plans and set our feet upon a different path, we aren't always happy about it. But God’s plan is ALWAYS the better path. We humans can fill our days with foolish things that have no eternal value. The LORD wants us to enjoy our lives, but sometimes plan changes are the only way God can answer our prayers!

When we think of these changes in that light, then our perspective should also change. Our attitude should change to joy! God is up to something good for our lives!

LORD, if You change our plans, help us to keep Your perspective in our minds. We are human and we often fail to see Your bigger plan. Help us to not murmur and complain, but instead live in Hope because of Your love and Your promises for good for our lives! God is always up to something Good!

Thank You Jesus! Amen.

JUNE 1 - JOHN 7:38 “Jesus said, “Whoever believes in Me, as Scripture has said, rivers of Living Water will flow from within them.”

Some rivers when they flow trickle easily and flow softly. Some like the Mighty Mississippi have strong currents that have a force behind them. Jesus told us in the book of John that when we believe in Him, “rivers” of Living Water will flow from within us. Notice that He didn’t say just one river, but rivers.

Jesus is the force moving those rivers within believers. We can’t dam up the flow. The force behind it is too strong and our faith in Jesus must be released. Those rivers must flow!

Jesus, help us to not be luke-warm believers that dam up our faith in You. Let Your Living Water flow from within us that others may drink that Living Water and never thirst again. Lead us today to those You have been preparing to receive just as You met the Samaritan Woman at the well. Take us where we need to go. When we believe in You, Jesus, then truly “...rivers of Living Water will flow from within us.”

Thank You Jesus! Amen.

MAY 31 - MATTHEW 25:6 “At midnight the cry rang out: “Here’s the bridegroom! Come out to meet him!”

Jesus shared this parable to prepare us for His Second Coming. This is the Midnight Cry! “Here’s the Bridegroom! Come out to meet Him!” Are you ready to meet Him?

As born-again believers we are given the task of not only being ready, but to help others be ready also. The task of getting others ready too can be pretty scary. Sharing the message of Jesus to others and making disciples isn’t easy in this upside down world.

It’s comforting to know that we don’t have to have all the answers. We aren’t even responsible for whether those we tell receive our message. But, we are responsible for taking a step of faith to plant a seed. Jesus tells us that once we plant the seed He will water it.

Jesus, today we will be around people…at Walmart, the bank and in our own homes. We don’t know when the Bridegroom is coming, but we want to do our best to plant seeds that will have life in them. We want others to come to know You as we do. Take our fears away and enable us to be bold in sharing. Use every talent we have to the fullest. Help us to give You our best for Your Glory, Lord.

Thank You Jesus! Amen.

MAY 30 - MATTHEW 25:5 “The groom was late arriving, and the girls became drowsy and fell asleep.”

This Parable says the Bridegroom didn’t arrive until late. All the girls had gotten drowsy and fallen asleep. But, at Midnight there was a cry ‘Here is the bridegroom! Come out to meet him.’ The girls all began to trim the wicks of their lamps so they could see the bridegroom when He arrived. The wise were ready for His coming!

But, the foolish girls realized at that moment that their lamps didn’t have enough oil. They weren’t ready! They panicked and asked the wise girls, “Give us some of your oil; our lamps are going out!”

The wise girls had prepared for His Coming. They replied, “No, there may not be enough for both us and you. Instead, go to those who sell oil and buy some for yourselves.”

“But while they were on their way to buy the oil, the bridegroom arrived. The virgins who were ready went in with him to the wedding banquet. And the door was shut. “Later the others also came. ‘Sir! Sir!” they said, ‘Open the door for us!” “But he replied, ‘I tell you the truth, I don’t know you.’ Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour.”

Lord Jesus, we do not know the day or the hour of Your Coming. Help us to be ready and help others to be ready, too! We want to share our oil while we can. The last minute is too late to fill lamps. Let us freely give while we can.

Thank You Jesus! Amen.
