Sitting here thinking, I think blaming Satan for all of our wrongdoings takes away accountability for our actions. Instead of owning up to it and stopping we blame him and use him as an excuse to continue doing wrong. Yes, he may put the temptation in front of us but ultimately it's our choice if we fall prey to the temptation or not. His goal is to cause us to fall. When you give him the credit he likely pats himself on the back thinking he has power over you when ultimately, the choice is yours and he has no power.

What better way to turn people away from Christianity than to call yourself one but act like a devil.

We need some serious prayers going up 😞 Kendra Gipson and me were just at Sam's getting gas and I heard something with a loud exhaust squealing tires taking off and then all of a sudden squealing tires from slamming on the brakes and a loud bang. We drove by and there was a truck and a white car. Almost the entire driver side of the white car was smashed in. I know we serve an all powerful God and he can work miracles. Please pray for everyone involved. They definitely need the prayers. Thank you in advance.

The devil appeared to three monks and said to them: "If I gave you the power to change something in the past, what would you change?"

The first of them, with great apostolic fervor, replied: "I would like to prevent you from leading Adam and Eve to sin, so that humanity does not separate from God."

The second, a man full of mercy, said to him: "I will prevent you from straying from God and condemning you forever."

The third of them was the simplest and instead of answering the tempter, he knelt down, made the sign of the cross, and prayed: "Lord, deliver me from the temptation of what might have been and what was not."

The demon, screaming and trembling with pain, fled.

The other two were surprised and said to him: "Brother, why did you react like this?"

And he answered them: “First, we should never talk to the enemy.”

“Secondly, no one in the world has the power to change the past.”

“Third: Satan’s interest was not to prove our virtue, but to trap us in the past, so that we neglect the present, which is the only time God gives us His grace and we can cooperate with Him to fulfill His will.”

Of all the demons, the one that most holds men back and prevents them from being happy is “what could have been and was not.” The past is left to the mercy of God and the future to His providence. Only the present is in our hands. Live today loving God with all your heart.

How would you rather be remembered? Caring and loving or hateful and rude?

I ask this because with Door Dashing I come in contact with so many people now and it's very rare to come across a person who is polite and friendly. You say hi or thank you to most people and they look at you like you are stupid. You hold the door for people and they just walk through like it's your job to do so, never acknowledging that you are even there. I'm not doing it for the thank yous or anything but I couldn't imagine being rude to someone who is trying to be nice or polite.

This world is changing and not for the good.

I understand that people have bad days but I don't let my bad day effect how I treat the workers prepping the food or the customers that I am delivering to. It's not their fault so why would I treat them like it is?

If you get saved and your reason for doing good and acting right is because of your rewards in heaven or just to make it to heaven then you are doing it for the wrong reasons and are completely missing the point. Do good for the sake of doing good and stopping other people's suffering. We are commanded to love and helping because you will be rewarded is not love, that is pure selfishness.

Edit - In my honest opinion the reward IS helping people and the fact that you ARE able to help.

"13 For he shall have judgment without mercy, that hath shewed no mercy; and mercy rejoiceth against judgment." James 2:13

If you don't show mercy you will be judged without mercy.

Importance of Being A Light to Nonbelievers

Say that I were a nonbeliever, which I am not, but once was. If I were to be around a person that goes to Church every time the doors were open, someone that calls themselves a Christian, and that person is crying all the time, complaining all the time, being rude all the time, judging, and condemning people all the time, someone who is bitter and hateful, wagging their finger at everyone all the time, angry and sad constantly, arguing or calling people names, I would not want to be a Christian.

A nonbeliever isn’t(most of the time) going to look at that person and realize that not everyone who is a Christian is like that. They are going to lump us all together and think all Christians are the same.

Every single thing I listed is something that is keeping people from turning to Jesus. Why would you want to turn to Jesus if turning to Him is going to cause you to be that way?

We are called to be a light to the world not to push people away from Christ. Not to tear them down but to build them up. To be an example to nonbelievers. Is being anything that I listed above a good example of what a follower of Christ should be? Should we not spread joy? Love? The truth of how to live by how we live? How we speak? Or how we act?

I’m not saying not to teach or correct people, I’m just saying if you are going to, that you should do it in a passionate loving way. And if you are going to correct, then make sure that you yourself are correct.
