Jesus said that new wine cannot be poured into old wineskins. The message is clear: Christianity isn't about simply renewing our old religion or making a few changes to our old lives.

We must be born again. We need to be made new, led by the Holy Spirit, and learn to live by the Spirit.

Following Jesus means more than changing the outside—it means becoming new from the inside out.

Jesus’ parable of the wheat and the weeds challenges us to examine our own lives. We may hear God’s Word, but are we truly listening and responding to what the Holy Spirit is saying?

Our lives will produce fruit that reveals what is growing within us. The question is not simply whether we attend church or hear the message—it is whether we are born again, walking with Christ, and willing to change when the Holy Spirit convicts us.

Are you wheat or weeds?

Are You Wheat or Weeds?
Matthew 13:24–30, 36–43

Jesus calls us to honestly examine our hearts and ask: Are there weeds growing in me? Are there weeds growing in my children?

This is a serious message, but there is hope. The blood of Jesus cleanses us, and through Him we can ask God to reveal what needs to change and transform our hearts.

Take time today to ask God to search your heart and help you grow in Him.

Sometimes the biggest thing keeping us from God isn't that we don't need His forgiveness—it's that we don't believe we can receive it.

Maybe you feel like you've gone too far. Maybe you've squandered everything. Maybe you wonder how God could possibly accept you after what you've done.

**Come.**

God's forgiveness is greater than your guilt. His love is greater than your failure. Like the father welcoming home his prodigal son, God invites you to come home.

**Don't let guilt keep you from the Father.**

Are we following the crowd, or are we standing with the cross?

It can be easy to go along with the people around us, but following Jesus requires us to be willing to stand apart—even when it’s difficult.

As Pastor Diedrich Harms reminds us, we should never be ashamed to confess our sin, and we should never be ashamed to confess that **Jesus has forgiven us.**

The question is simple, but important: **Are you with the crowd, or are you standing with Jesus?**

The hardest words to say can sometimes be the most freeing: **“I was wrong. I have sinned.”**

The prodigal son came to his father without excuses, without blaming others, and without trying to justify what he had done. He simply confessed his sin.

When we come before God, we don't need to make excuses. We can come honestly, because He welcomes us as a loving Father.

**“I have sinned.”**
