Day 5

1 Corinthians 10:13

Joseph’s victory over temptation wasn’t accidental; it was intentional. He named the temptation for what it was, remembered who he belonged to, and refused to stay near what could destroy him. The sermon applied this plainly: when temptation comes, don’t flirt with it—avoid it, step away, and make wise choices that protect your future.

God always provides a way of escape, but you still have to take it. For Joseph, the “escape” looked like refusing, creating distance, and choosing integrity even when it cost him. Your way out may include boundaries, accountability, different routes, different patterns, and Spirit-led self-control. The goal isn’t merely to resist sin; it’s to pursue a life that honors God and keeps your heart free.

What is my most common pattern of temptation—when does it happen, and what usually triggers it?

What practical “way of escape” has God already provided that I haven’t been using consistently?

What boundary do I need to set this week (digital, relational, financial, or emotional) to avoid unnecessary pressure?

Who is one trustworthy person I can ask for accountability, and what exactly will I invite them to check in on?

Write a short plan for the next time temptation hits: what will I do in the first 60 seconds to choose obedience?

Day 4

Colossians 3:23-24

The sermon confronted a subtle trap: serving God primarily to get something from God. When obedience becomes a transaction, disappointment is never far behind—because life will still have trials, delays, and confusing chapters. But when obedience becomes worship, you can serve with a steady heart even when the “benefit” isn’t immediate.

God is not a harsh rule-maker; He’s a wise Father who commands for your good and forms you through obedience. Serving “as unto the Lord” purifies motives and protects you from burnout, comparison, and resentment. When you remember who you’re really serving, you can keep showing up with integrity and joy even when nobody applauds.

If I’m honest, where have I been serving with a transactional mindset—expecting a payoff from God or people?

What would change if I viewed my daily responsibilities as worship offered to Jesus?

Where do I feel unseen or unappreciated, and how might God be using that place to shape my character?

Choose one act of hidden faithfulness today (something no one may notice) and do it as worship—what will it be?

Pray and ask God to realign your motives; what specific attitude do you want Him to cleanse and renew?
