There is sometimes a pain for loss so great that it is often never able to be placed into words. -a.j.m

My heart goes out for the loss of our sister Rosa....
As I know her life was valuable in so many ways, and to so many.

I will miss her matchless strength, openness and how she led by example on how to hold fiercely to your faith. Her bright and welcoming smile and warm embrace will be sorely missed, as well as each tender and truthful moment she spent with us, here on this earth. She was nothing short of an inspiration of how to take on life's battles, knowing that God prevails. Her care for and encouragement to others, even in moments of her own strife and sadness, was an ability that is unequalled. She was a true believer and I trust that her place is now sitting on high, where she will reap the rewards of her giving nature. Those who encountered her have been touched and inspired, while those who were loved by her, knew a love that could move mountains. I have no doubt that they will forever feel her love flowing through them. My thoughts are deeply with her family now, as I know that her loving smile and devoted soul is now met by our faithful Father.

FOREVER IN OUR HEARTS

Not only should we give from our heart, but with our heart. Whether or not money is something we have to give, it is not the only place from which we are able to provide. We can likewise use the riches within our hearts to touch others. By listening, offering guidance, or being a source of support through encouragement and other means. In whichever ways that we have the ability to share, when doing so, we must put our worldly thoughts and worries out of our minds and give with a heart that Jesus would have us to give.

2 Corinthians 9: 6,7 But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully. 7) Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.

Can we really win in the ring against the devil? Have we sized up our opponent?

God has placed us in the ring, but not without providing us with protective gear. Part of that protection is acknowledging, deciphering and recognizing Satan's works for what they are.
So are we putting up a stand-up fight?

We learn to defeat our adversary through the capabilities God grows within us. By exploring His word and in our unity as Christians. We are given this equipment for a reason! To be resilient in our willingness to show fortitude and strength of character in our stance against evil and against sin. God trains us to miss a few, but also to take a few punches; knowing that our greatest goal is in gaining the durability, stamina, and the endurance to stay in the fight.

Ephesians 6: 11-13 11) Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the Wiles of the devil. 12) For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. 13) Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

When we produce song, it comes from a genuine place deep inside. An authentic place, untouched. It comes from our soul. If there is one way to honor God, it is from our innermost sincerest places. When we sing praises to Him, we are expressing our adoration in the truest fashion. The same way that music brings joy to us; our voices bring pleasantness to our Lord. Song has a means of opening our hearts in a way that nothing else can. Let us use our voice as an instrument of the reverence we hold for our Father in heaven; glorifying Him with profound awe and devotion.

Although we do have power over the actions, judgments and decisions that we make in our lives; we are never in complete control over our circumstances. Some things are beyond us and those things can strike at any time. An illness can keep us isolated, a new career can take us to different places, a natural disaster or accident may change the plans or hopes that we have invested ourselves in, and so on.
But when we seek to serve God, we must do it in the ways that are at hand. Wherever, whenever and in whichever capacity that we are able. There is one thing for sure, and that is knowing that God will always provide an opportunity to serve Him. If we are unable to find a way to it, He will bring a way to us; we need only to be looking out for it. No matter the size or form it may be in, there is always a way to serve, wherever you are. 🤲🤍 Amy J. McCullough

What standard are we holding our beliefs to when we feel that God will come through on some things, but then lose that confidence in others? The impractical things? The times when we doubt Him the most?

God proves more powerful no matter the need; it is whether we hold the faith in that He will. When we believe without reservation; our prayers are resolved. We are lifted with a feeling of reassurance, trust and a closeness with our Father in heaven that is both humbling and triumphant. Resting in the joy and comfort that our needs are never out of reach when we are devoted in our faith. Maintaining this kind of certainty in God to oversee our most challenging of requests, is by far the most difficult we are confronted with; but the Lord assumes this of us if we believe on Him.

Matthew 14:31 And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?

Mark 10:27 And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.

Ephesians 2:20 Now unto Him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.

Mark 11:23, 24 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. 24) Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

"Longsuffering, a Fruit of the Spirit"

Ever lose your temper and retaliate? Have you ever said something to someone who wronged you and then after you cooled off, you felt horrible for what you said? A Christian should feel horrible because we know it’s wrong.

Jesus Christ told us, if someone strikes us one side of our face, to turn the other side and let them strike it too. Matthew 5:39.
This has to be one of the hardest things any person can do. But Gods children are taught to follow the teachings of Christ in the Holy scriptures and are expected to follow it.

Paul tells us in Galatians 5:22-23 what the Fruits of the Spirit are. The Holy Spirit gives God’s children the blessing of one of those Fruits which is longsuffering. Longsuffering is to be patient, to tolerate, to forebear which means to put up with, endure, to suffer and not retaliate.
We are to be separate from the world and its thinking as Paul says in 2 Corinthians 6:14-18. We are to be a peculiar people, obviously and noticeably different than the world as Peter says in 1 Peter 2:9-10.
For those who don’t know the Lord, this blessing is not imparted, as we learn in 1 Corinthians 2:12-14.

Paul says verses 12-14 “Now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given us of God. 13. Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. 14. But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned”.

So be ye thankful. Be thankful with the knowledge of the word, with understanding. With mercy from God, salvation through the Son, and strength from the Holy Spirit who imparts these blessed Spiritual Fruits upon us to give us the ability to love, have joy and peace, to be longsuffering that we may endure until the end. And all the other precious Fruits as well. The purpose? That we may have the strength to turn the other cheek. To walk away from persecution instead of trying to avenge ourselves. You see we don’t have to worry about it, because the Lord said, he will take care of it. Romans 12:19

Praise the Lord God for his wonderful spiritual blessings!

It is without doubt how important it is to love God - to read and share His word - to work at achieving the things that are essential in bringing us closer to Him; but are we on fire about it? About God?

We need to be keen and eager when we study! Exhilarating, powerful - hyped, when sharing with others about our Lord! We should aspire to reach the expectations God has laid down before us with vitality and spiritedness!
This is how we want to go about gratifying the Lord. How we truly reward ourselves, others and our Father in Heaven. This is how we change the world!
Be inspiring and on fire about God! Get passionate - get deep! Delight in the Lord!

"TEN LEPERS HEALED"

In Luke 17:11-19, Jesus was on his way to Jerusalem. On his way he had to travel through the Samarian region. As he approached a village, there were ten leprous people outside of the village, which stood far away from him. They see him and ask for his merciful healing.
After Jesus tells them to go see the Priest, as it is written in the Law of Moses, (which was still in effect while Jesus was still alive) they begin their journey to do just as he commanded. On the way they are all healed. All ten of them.
But only one turned back to thank him and give praise unto God for his mercy. The one who turned back was a Samaritan.
Jesus asked in verse 17, “Were there not ten cleansed? But where are the nine”?
Why? Why did only one out of the ten that were healed turn back to give thanks and praise?

It is a well-known fact that many people in this world are selfish. Their selfishness is so subtle, they don’t even realize it. It is also a fact that many don’t acknowledge blessings from God. We can lose sight of who is in control; the one who is greater than all the world and everything in it.
You see, the nine only wanted what was best for themselves and they received what they wanted. To be healed of their leprosy. To have their life back.
One, one out of ten realized who the Lord truly was. He realized that the Lord was greater than anything that could have happened to him. He realized, because of his faith, he could be healed of more than a physical disease. He could have his heart healed and his soul saved from eternal damnation. And because of his faith, he was healed, spiritually and physically.

Jesus said in verse 19, “Arise, go thy way, thy faith hath made thee whole”
That is what faith in Jesus can do. We must look beyond our own needs and desires and seek to know and please the Lord. True and needed healing of the heart to save the soul should be our desire. Also, we must honor the Father and be thankful for his mercy and grace through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We must realize we all sin and come short of the Glory of God. Romans 3:23

1 Peter 5:10-11 But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you. To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen

It takes a village to make a town beautiful. We are asking individuals, businesses, organizations, families, friends, neighborhoods and other groups to celebrate Earth Day by participating in the week long event, The Great American Clean Up.

Our goal is to have volunteers on every street in Seminole, and we need all hands on deck.

HOW IT WORKS

1. Get a group together and adopt a street or area of Seminole.
2. Pick a time during the week of April 17-April 24th to clean your adopted area.
3. Register your team online.
4. We provide trash bags, vests, and gloves for your team.
5. Go outside and clean the streets!

"Spiritual Peace"

What comes to mind when you think of the word peace? What does it mean to you?

• I think of a country that is absent of war. A time of peace in a country means much to many.
• I think of terms, like peace and prosperity. Something mankind seeks.
• It reminds me of a movement for those who opposed war like the Vietnam war. It became more than a word; it became a symbol of millions who opposed the war.

However, the kind of peace Paul writes about in Galatians 5:22 is a peace we all should desire. It’s spiritual peace imparted on our heart and mind by the Holy Spirit.

Galatians 5:22-23 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

This word “peace” is defined in Strongs from the Greek word eirhnh or eirene, “i-ray'-nay”
Which means, prosperity:--one, peace, quietness, rest, + set at one again.

I love the thought of a quiet spirit. A calmness in a time of storm. I never should create any excuse not to be at peace with myself, with the Lord, with my brothers and sisters in Christ. We have been redeemed by the blood of the Lord. We have been reconciled to God. We have hope of life eternal. That is something worth being at peace over.

Paul say’s in Romans 5:1, Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:

I love the thought of being justified by faith. That does bring much peace to me along with knowing God sees me. He knows I love him and that I am greatful for all his blessings. I hope you are seeking and finding this same peace. If you aren’t, you’re missing out! God bless and have a great week!
