Thrills come in many forms. Some people jump from airplanes, while others bungee jump into canyons, all chasing the rush of feeling alive. But what thrills God most is not reckless adventure. It is redeemed lives. In Mark 2, four friends carried a paralyzed man to Jesus. When the crowd blocked the door, they climbed onto the roof, tore it open, and lowered their friend before the Savior. Their faith refused to quit because their love refused to let go.

The greatest thing those men did was not tear through a roof. It was bringing someone to Jesus. And the greatest miracle was not that the man walked again, but that he was forgiven. Jesus said, “Son, your sins are forgiven you” (Mark 2:5). What cost Jesus only a word to say cost Him His very life to accomplish.

God is thrilled when His people care enough, believe enough, and love enough to bring others to Christ, where forgiveness changes everything and grace makes all things new.

Today, Christ-Pointe Ministries honors the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation. Memorial Day reminds us that freedom is never free. Jesus said, “Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends” (John 15:13 NKJV). We pray for God’s peace over every Gold Star family and give thanks for the courage and sacrifice of our fallen heroes. May we never forget their service or the eternal freedom found through Jesus Christ. God bless America!

Habakkuk 2:4 declares, “The just shall live by His faith.” God never invites us to negotiate with Him. Too often we pray, “Lord, if You will do this, I will do that.” But faith is not striking a bargain with God; it is surrendering to God.

Habakkuk learned that lesson when God answered his prayer in a way he never expected. Instead of immediate revival, God raised up Babylon to discipline Judah. Habakkuk could not understand how a holy God could use a wicked nation for His purpose.

Have you ever felt that way? There are times when prayers seem delayed, wrong appears to win, and life feels unfair. Yet God calls us to wait on His timing, watch for His working, and worship His sovereignty.

Faith is not having all the answers. Faith is trusting the One who does. God is still on His throne, never late, never puzzled, and never powerless. When you cannot trace His hand, you can always trust His heart.

Happy Mother’s Day from Christ-Pointe Ministries! Today we thank God for the mothers, grandmothers, and spiritual mothers who helped shape our hearts long before we fully understood what faith truly meant. Through their prayers, sacrifice, wisdom, and love, many of us saw Jesus more clearly because of them. A godly mother’s influence reaches far beyond the home and leaves fingerprints on eternity. If you’re celebrating Mother’s Day today, take a moment to thank the women who helped shape your faith and pointed you toward Christ.

The headlines may change by the hour, but the hope of the believer never changes. Wars, disasters, and uncertainty can tempt us to panic like Chicken Little crying, “The sky is falling!” Yet God never called His children to live in fear; He called us to live by faith. James reminds us to “be patient . . . until the coming of the Lord” (James 5:7 NKJV). Jesus is not absent, asleep, or unaware. He is coming again, and every day brings us one step closer to His return.

While the world trembles, the church should remain steadfast. This is not the time for bitterness, compromise, or spiritual laziness. Rather, it is the time to strengthen our hearts with the Word of God, encourage one another, and continue sharing the Gospel. The farmer patiently waits for the harvest because he trusts the promise of God. In the same way, we must trust that God’s plan is unfolding exactly as He intends.

Look upward with patience, inward with purpose, and onward with perseverance. Jesus is coming soon!

When a church loses its burden for the lost, something has gone wrong at the heart level. The motions may continue; sermons are preached, songs are sung, and programs keep running, but without spiritual fruit, something vital is missing. The issue is not opportunity; it is passion. We have learned how to do church without truly feeling the weight of souls without Christ.

Psalm 126:6 gives God’s remedy: “He who continually goes forth weeping, bearing seed for sowing, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.” There will be no rejoicing in the harvest until there is weeping in the field. God honors hearts that are tender, humble, and stirred by the reality of eternity. When we stop weeping, we stop reaping.

But tears must lead to action. We are called to sow the seed, the unchanging Word of God. It is not our personality or performance that brings life, but the truth faithfully shared.

And here is God’s promise: there will be a harvest. It may not come quickly, but it will come. When we weep and sow, we will rejoice and reap.

Happy Resurrection Sunday from Christ-Pointe Ministries!

On this Lord’s Day, we celebrate our risen Savior, the very cornerstone of our faith. The resurrection of Jesus Christ is not just a moment in history. It is the miracle that gives meaning to everything we believe. Without it, our faith would be empty. But because He lives, our hope is alive and eternal.

Whether you come to church every week or only attend on Easter, know this: the empty tomb changes everything. Christ is risen, and because He lives, you can live with purpose, peace, and power.

He is risen indeed. Praise His holy name!

Good Friday can feel like a contradiction. How can we call the darkest day in human history “good,” the day Jesus was beaten, mocked, and crucified? By every human measure, it was horribly bad. Sin seemed to win, darkness covered the earth, and hope appeared buried in a borrowed tomb.

But God was doing His greatest work in the worst moment.

What looked like defeat was actually victory. What appeared to be the end was truly the beginning. The cross was not a tragedy; it was a triumph. Because on that cross, Jesus took our sin, our shame, and our punishment and paid it in full. As Romans 5:8 reminds us, “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

The bad was real, but it was temporary. The good is eternal.

Because of Good Friday, Sunday was coming. Because of the cross, there is forgiveness. Because of Jesus, there is life.

When I was a boy, I used to sing about Zacchaeus climbing a sycamore tree just to catch a glimpse of Jesus. I never imagined that one day I would be preaching that very story, yet it truly is a powerful one. It tells of a man who sought out Jesus, only to realize that Jesus had been seeking him all along.

Zacchaeus spent his days collecting taxes, witnessing broken lives, sickness, bo***ge, and death along the way. However, when Jesus passed by, everything changed. Blind eyes were opened, bodies were healed, homes were restored, and even the dead were brought back to life.

Then came Zacchaeus’s moment. The Bible tells us, “For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost” (Luke 19:10 NIV). Jesus stopped, looked up into the sycamore tree, and called Zacchaeus by name. That same Savior continues to pass by even today.

You may feel invisible or lost, but Jesus sees you. And when He enters your life, everything changes.

Yesterday, my heart was heavy as I learned that my dear preacher brother, Dr. Steve Gaines, had passed away and gone to be with the Lord. Since his cancer diagnosis in 2023, I reached out to him periodically with notes and emails to remind him that he was loved and prayed for, and the last time we corresponded was in October when we had hoped to meet for some fellowship, but his declining health prevented it. In a note he sent me in 2024, he declared that God was “completely healing” him, and he was right. Yesterday, that promise was fulfilled in its fullest and most glorious sense as he now stands perfectly healed in the presence of Jesus, whom he so faithfully proclaimed. I will miss his strong, prophetic voice, but I rejoice knowing this faithful servant is now fully healed and at home in heaven.
