✍🏾🎊🎉🎈🙏You know why we make new year resolutions? We like the idea of having a clean slate. A brand new year that we can say, 'I haven't done ___ ALL YEAR LONG'. But when we slip and revert back to our old ways, most people just quit. I believe the problem is that most people prepare for success. They just don't have a plan for failure. If you plan to do ANYTHING worthwhile, you must have a plan for failure. Actually, the law of averages say I have 8 failures before achieving success. If this is true then, my goal is to hurry up and get my failures out of the way so that I can get to my success. Author and motivatioinal speaker Denis Waitley said it best, 'failure is something we can avoid only by saying nothing, doing nothing, and being nothing.” Don't be afraid of failure in 2016. It's the road map to success. Happy New Years Eve!

In today’s society, to be guarded is not only the norm, but it’s safer that way. You never know who you can trust or who could potentially be the one that could harm you. This perspective will certainly keep you protected, but it will also keep the good that could come your way at a distance as well. There is a lot of good out there and many times the beginning of a person letting down their guards so you can experience their good is YOUR smile. Don’t have a victim’s mentality. God is your protection. Trust Him to keep the predators at bay. He will. You just focus on the healing powers you possess that are often activated with a sincere, generous smile.

Proverbs 15:13 – A glad heart makes a cheerful face, but by sorrow of heart the spirit is crushed.

Maybe you keep getting ignored and over looked but you know God has placed something special inside you. Remember this: Joseph was thrown in a pit, harassed, sold, put in prison, and forgotten by those he helped. Until one day the TOP official in the country wanted to hear what everybody else couldn't appreciate when he spoke. It was then that he went from a zero to a hero. Whether you're in the prison or the palace, don't quit. You may be a ZERO right now, but you've got HERO on layawy. Keep making those payments!

We see life thru the lens of our own experiences. That being said, you won't be ok with others until you are first ok with yourself. Acclaimed author Anaïs Nin said it best, 'We don't see things as they are we see things as we are'. Ask God to help you examine your past and even your present. Hold on to what needs to be held on to. Let go of what isn't working for you and face & make right what needs to be reconciled. You will never have true peace outside of you until there is true peace within you.

Psalm 119:165 - Great peace have those who love your law; nothing can make them stumble.

Storms come in life—strong winds, crashing waves, things we never expected. God’s Word tells us that one day Jesus said to His disciples on the shore of the Sea of Galilee, “'Let us go across to the other side.’ And leaving the crowd, they took him with them in the boat...And a great windstorm arose, and the waves were breaking into the boat, so that the boat was already filling. But he was in the stern, asleep on the cushion. And they woke him and said to him, ‘Teacher, do you not care that we are perishing?’ And he awoke and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, ‘Peace! Be still!’ And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. He said to them, ‘Why are you so afraid? Have you still no faith?’ And they were filled with great fear and said to one another, ‘Who then is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?’” (Mark 4:35-41). Be assured today—God is not sleeping. Whatever comes, He is there and can speak "Peace be still" to troubled and fearful souls. Ask Him for His help in whatever storm you’re facing right now.
