"THE SECRET THINGS" Deut. 29:29
The Bible's contents cannot be fully comprehended in weeks, months, or years such as some novels. The Bible's growing comprehension takes a lifetime, and is still as inviting, relevant, and compelling as when one first became a serious student of its contents.
The Word, the Son of God, who became flesh is revealed to the world as Jesus Christ, and He is the Ultimate central theme of all Scripture. The Bible could be summed up thus: Someone is coming, Someone came, and Someone is coming again meaning Jesus Christ. He is the superlative subject of all Scripture. Scripture, God's written Word is manifestly about Him; but Jesus Christ is the Living Word revealed to humanity who dwelled physically with mankind.
One of the primary "secret things" of God refers in large measure to God's ongoing providence. Meaning God's involvement and care in the affairs of the world at large of humankind, and God's workings in the individual lives of us all toward His overall plan and purposes.
God's gospel providence, His working in the lives of those would be believers is a precious truth, not a secret thing, but instead a thing ultimately revealed that belongs to believers forever.
Wherefore, we as believers must share God's revealed "Good News" of Jesus Christ to all who will listen.

"LORD, LORD!" Luke 6:46-49
Meaning all who have true saving faith always produce obedience and submission to the lordship of Jesus Christ. Stated another way: Authentic saving faith is verified, validated by a pattern of obedience of the commands of Christ as revealed in the Word of God.
A living saving relationship of true faith in Jesus Christ means one must receive Him not only as Savior but also as Lord of our lives.
Basically, the full essence of saving faith is trusting as accepting Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord; acknowledging His full identity as God-Man, believing in His atoning sacrifice on one's behalf, repenting of sin, being baptized into Christ in obedience, and thus committing to a life of discipleship under His Lordship in a lifestyle of obedience.
Many desire a savior but not a Lord to whom they must submit to obedience. That is not a true Christian fully trusting in Christ.
Submission to Jesus Christ as Lord is a non-negotiable element of genuine salvation. Saving faith must also be an obedient faith. When sinning, a Christian confesses and repents; not continues in a lifestyle of sin, without Godly sorrow nor without any effort of repentance.
Because when one says "Lord" it is from the heart, not just the lips. How is our Lordship in Jesus Christ going?

"THE BEAR AND ORION" Job 9:7-10
Mankind has many marvels of His creation, in spite of His curse; due to sin, to reveal its existence and excellence. Take for example astronomy, a fascinating science. Modern Astronomy is the study of the universe and the objects in it. Astronomers seek answers to questions such as: How did the universe begin? What processes release energy deep inside stars? How does one star take matter from another star?
Today the current major scientific theory as to how the universe "evolved" is the so-called "Big Bang" theory. This theory proposes that the entire universe exploded from a super-hot "point" about 15 billion ears ago. This theory states that the universe continues to expand. The 'Big Bang' theory also proposes that the universe had a beginning. Astronomers do not know what caused the 'Big Bang'; (that is the explosion) they simply call it "The Cause."
So according to scripture which Bible-believing Christians accept as inerrant, meaning, without error in the original autographs "The Cause" equals Christ; who is God!
Consider some of the last words of Jesus Christ recorded in the Bible as according to Rev. 22:16: "I, Jesus, have sent my angel to give you this testimony for the churches, ---I am the root and the offspring of David and the bright Morning Star." The Morning Star represents the brightest star ushering in a new day. When Christ returns He will be as the Brightest Star to shatter man's darkness. He will usher in a new age. He is the light of salvation; He is the Christ and creator God of the cosmos.

"HE WAS TWELVE YEARS OLD" Luke 2:41-42
"Twelve years old:" This particular Passover was especially significant for Jesus. Jewish boys became accountable to the law of God at age 13; which was a transition to be marked at age 13 by a ritual known as 'Bar Mitzvah' meaning ' son of the law or covenant.' The last Passover before a boy turned thirteen was particularly important in preparing Him for His responsibility to Mosaic Law.
Many preeminent teachers would have been in Jerusalem for Passover. Jesus would have seized the opportunity to dialogue with some of the greatest minds in Judaism. Jesus would have been passionate about the word of His Father God, and therefore would have wanted to hear their views on many topics in the Old Testament. It was regular custom to stimulate discussion by asking questions.
At the age of twelve His relationship with his Heavenly Father certainly did not cancel His responsibility to obey and later provide for His earthly family.
So God became man in the Person of Jesus Christ. Born of a virgin, a boy in the Temple, a man on a cross, a glorified man in His bodily resurrection, God-man returning to dwell with His own forevermore. That is "the faith" we must believe.

"BLESSED" Matthew 5:10-12

10 Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

11 “Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. 12 Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

"BE READY" Matthew 24:42-44
Biblically minded Christians should refrain from, as some, strikingly and re-calculating of when Christ is returning. Instead the admonition from Jesus Christ is to always ready, in a saving, secure relationship through faithfulness in Him.
In Christ, believers should have no ultimate worries regarding the future. God, through Scripture, affirms this: In Christ we have eternal security by abiding, persevering faith.
Instead of "troubled hearts" at the seemingly constant "terrible times" that we are living through, we Christians should be doing the things He commanded us to do. Christ emphasized that during His absence bodily with us, we should work for Him and His Kingdom. Especially sharing the gospel, the Good News of Jesus Christ, to people who do not yet believe.
As Bible-believing Christians, we should share gospel truths that are central and clearest in especially the New Testament. The prophecy that Jesus Christ will return is central. The need to be ready for Christ is central. The prophecy that there will be a day of judgement is central.
Sounds obvious that God has gone to great lengths to inform humankind that His Son is coming back, bodily; so readiness in Christ is of central importance. Are you ready?

"MY TRUE SON IN THE FAITH" 2 Timothy 4:9-13
As the parents and grandparents, uncles or aunts we have the opportunity of being the role models who inspire our children, grandchildren, nephews, or nieces to reach for the stars. Every child needs a hero, a heroine to emulate, especially in the faith in union with Christ. We can be the heroes of the faith in the earliest stories of our children's and grandchildren's memories.
Paul writes of his most faithful Timothy compared to Demas his most unfaithful. Sadly, we know of many that love this world and its allurements more than they love the Lord and serving him. We must pray for them that they may repent and return to the Lord.
Paul probably kept Luke close for at least two reasons. First, due to Luke's literary skills. Luke wrote the longest (in words) of the four gospels, as well as the lengthy book of Acts. Scholars believe Luke sometimes penned Paul's epistles (or letters) as he dictated the words to Luke. Second, "Luke the doctor" (Col. 4:14) is certainly needful.
Needful to say, whether as physical and or spiritual fathers, mothers, or mentors we as Christians have s responsibility, even accountability by our lives and words to proclaim Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord by the conviction of the Holy Spirit that more may become and remain true sons and daughters in the faith in Christ in the family of God.

"THE HEAVENS DECLARE THE GLORY OF GOD" Psalms 19:1-4A
This lesson is about the Glory of God, meaning biblically, is about Gods majesty, His splendor and honor. Glory signifies all His awesome, all powerful humanity. Often, this is through His creation, scripture, and including all His marvelous works, especially in the Person of Jesus Christ. The glory of God is, essentially, God's display of His greatness and worthiness!
"Everything exists for the purpose of glorifying (honoring) God." In fact; it has been stated well that "The chief end of man is to glorify God and enjoy Him forever."
The idea here is that the stars of the heavens and our sun (which is a star) are so glorious that the one who created them then must be far more glorious still!
Curiously, Jesus Christ never, explicitly used the term "great" in referring to himself. However, the concept of "great" is certainly implied in comparing John 8:53 (Jews stated) "Very truly I tell you," Jesus answered, "Before Abraham was born, I AM." Jesus Christ is Great; He is ever glorious! "In Him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness and the darkness h as not overcome it." (John 1:4-5)
We are to be 'Great God-ers' in Christ!

"WORSHIP GOD ACCEPTABLY" Hebrew 12:28
So worship God acceptably with reverence and awe. Reverence, biblically meaning with deep and profound respect and humility (as broken jars now) but in the very presence of God glorified like perfect vases seeking to constantly release the sweet smelling aroma of our worship unto God, along with the angelic host forever. Our reverence for God will be constant in His presence. It will be, in part, our act of worship in response to God's all-consuming holiness and majesty involving both inner feelings and outward actions.
"Awe" means biblically (regarding God) to have a depth of wonder and respect, often mixed with a holy fear, even tremendous admiration of God. It is a deep recognition of God's awesomeness, His majesty, His holiness, His character, His mighty works, all that God is! Having an awe of God emphasizes the believer's way of being, not just a fleeting emotion. Awe is our response to God's creation, His providential care, His redemptive work, and His judgments.
Why? Because worship that God desires is not the place, not an exact pattern, instead it is the person who desires to worship God acceptably with reverence and awe. Being occupied with God! Being broken giving one's all to the Lord our God.

"FOR THEIR FAITH" Hebrew 11:36-40
However, as Christians, there is a much longer and greater story of believers in the one true God, who have gone before us in persevering and overcoming faith in spite of great, great suffering and the giving of their lives for their faith in God. Our American story is, we believe, the greatest story of "government of the people, by the people, for the people." Yet it is only a temporal, earthly story.
Our faith story in our God is for eternity, and a coming new Heaven and Earth for the faithful. Lincoln and Gettysburg are but a springboard in this lesson of God and commemorating His saints of old who have gone before us as our heroes of the faith. Not going back a mere 157 years, but thousands of years for the faithful.
It is for us the living, as believers, to complete the unfinished work of the dead believers to remain faithful and to witness to others regarding "the faith." Do we remember, even honor the saints of God who withstood great sufferings and death yet remained faithful?
"Now faith is confidence in what we hope for, and assurance about what we do not see." (Heb. 11:1) Are we living only by sight? Salvation in Christ is by His grace and always through faith. Ours is the battlefield of our lifetimes; we must remain faithful to Jesus!

"DO THIS IN REMEMBRANCE OF ME" 1 Corinthians 11:23-26
One application for all of us Christians, is that the place of worship, the people with us, in the final analysis regarding worship, can be observed, celebrated with the spirit of Christ in our hearts and minds, anywhere, even behind closed doors in our homes or hospitals. Which can also give, no matter the trial, a feeling of trust, comfort & praise.
"Do this in remembrance of Me" is in the form of a command from Christ Himself. Communion is therefore not optional for Christians. After we examine ourselves (! Cor. 11:28), including setting all our sin before the Lord in repentance, then we partake of the bread and fruit of the vine, not our sin, but instead to rededicate ourselves to our Lord.
Communion is a permanent celebration until He comes. It is more than a remembrance for Christians; it is also for our witness to the world of our Lord's atoning sacrifice and death. The Lord's Supper is also a reminder that our Lord is coming again. This helps believers to look forward to the blessed hope of His return for us; who are His. It is a celebration of His past atoning work in the cross, and His future return in glory.
The blood of Christ shed some 2,000 years ago guarantees all of this.

"RUTH THE MOABITE" Ruth 1:8-18
Ruth, a Moabite, swore her commitment to Naomi in the name of Israel's God, thus acknowledging Him as her God also. Ruth was also found to be a woman of her word, deeply devoted to her mother-in-law, and committed to the Israelite family she had married into.
All of this was well known to Israelites. Nevertheless, Boaz, an Israelite of Bethlehem, of the tribe of Judah married Ruth, a Moabitess. Why? Because he obviously cared for Naomi and Ruth. Plus he was fulfilling his role as a "kinsman-redeemer" obligated to maintain the family name and lineage of his deceased relative Naomi's husband Elimelek.
The main message of Ruth, a widow who became a wife again, and a mother could be summed up as: God's faithfulness and provision, even in the midst of terrible hardship, who graciously added the inclusion of a non-Israelite woman, Ruth, into the family lineage of the King of kings; Jesus Messiah. God did and can still work through ordinary people, a mother and a shepherd, to accomplish the extraordinarily greatest story ever told, the good news of Jesus Christ.
And mothers still, of course, continue to play key roles in God's master plan; including your mother and mine, whether we knew them or not.
