When I tithe, I am not giving to the church, to help pay for the lights, or to the pastors for their salary. When I tithe, I am worshipping the One, True Living God who sent His Son to sacrifice His life for my salvation. I am worshipping God, who gives me eyes to see, ears to hear, and breath in my lungs. I am showing Him how grateful I am for all that He has done, is doing, and will do for me.
SERIOUSLY, IS 10 CENTS ON EVERY DOLLAR TOO MUCH TO ASK FOR? I DON’T THINK SO!
God can do more for us, with what we give to Him, than what we can do for ourselves.
There are many teachings on YouTube about the tithe, some are pro, and some are con. I like the teaching this man gives about the topic. If this topic is new to you, you can search YouTube and find a simpler teaching that you prefer.
Remember this, Jesus affirmed the law rather than abolishing it. In Matthew 5:17-20, Jesus explicitly states that He did not come to destroy the law (Old Testament) or the prophets but to fulfill them. This indicates that His mission was to complete the purpose of the law rather than to negate it. As Christians, we follow after the New Testament. Romans 15:4 tells us, For whatsoever things were written before, were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.
