Ascension Day Message:

Hello Friedens Church Family,
I am happy to be here as your Interim Pastor! I’ll say more about that in the upcoming newsletter.

What I want to mention today, though, is that this is Ascension Day. Forty days after Jesus resurrected from the dead, He ascended into heaven. The Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, have a good bit to say about this important event and the practical benefits and blessings it has for our lives.

This Sunday I will be focusing on the Ascension in the sermon and some other aspects of worship as I launch a new sermon series entitled, “The Winds of Change: Pentecost.” God’s wonderful gift of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost changed the disciples and He changes us! Jesus connects the Holy Spirit and wind in John 3:8 and John 20:22 and the coming of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost also has connections with wind in Acts 2:2. I hope the article above is helpful to all of us in appreciating the Ascension and I hope you can make it for each week of the new sermon series!
